Visa User Experience is seeking an experienced Sr. UX Researcher/Analyst with expert capabilities in user research and the design of engaging user experiences. The Sr. UX Researcher/Analyst will create, improve, and lead UX strategy for B2B and consumer-facing payment applications for web/mobile.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of professional industry experience in User Experience Design and/or Research

 

Responsibility level

  • Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product managers to create UX strategies driven by business goals & priorities

  • Propose & carry out UX research roadmaps to support product roadmaps

  • Lead design thinking workshops

  • Manage stakeholder relationships

  • Design usable, accessible, and engaging user experiences for the web and mobile based on research and best practices.

  • Analyze software (web and mobile) for usability issues and work with developers and designers to recommend and implement solutions.

  • Create user journeys, user/task flows, wireframes, usability test plans, test results, and other UX artifacts as needed.

  • Translate UX research into design recommendations and UX requirements

  • Conduct user research activities and participate in all areas of our usability lab

  • Serve as team lead/POC on projects like those mentioned above, working with management to commit the team to work, handle issues, escalate as appropriate, and manage schedule/budget.

  • Work with diverse team of product owners, UX designers, developers, and business partners in a fast paced environment, with quick iterative cycles

  • Passionate about making web and mobile applications easier to use and accessible to all users

  • Deep Subject Matter Expertise in interaction design and user research

  • Understanding of design techniques and principles involved in the production of conceptual prototypes and wireframes

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to a variety of audiences.

  • Strong problem solving skills, thorough, methodical, with extreme attention to detail and ability to think on your feet

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fully fluent in English and able to understand and be easily understood in spoken and written English.

  • Elite customer service and interpersonal skills – a bridge builder who makes strong relationships with enduring loyalty

  • Self-starter who is comfortable with minimal day-to-day guidance, expertly manages time and independently manages competing, simultaneous projects and deadlines

  • Understanding of SDLC and the technical and business challenges that come with development of a product

  • Significant experience conducting moderated usability tests (including with users with disabilities), ideally in a lab environment

  • Experience with group facilitation and design thinking.

  • Proficiency designing and developing prototypes using industry tools like Balsamiq, Axure, InVision, or Sketch

  • Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment a plus.

  • Subject Matter Expertise in Accessibility (508/WCAG) a plus.

  • Visual design skills a plus.
