Team Description 

The Sr. Director, Engagement is a member of the leadership team of the newly formed School of Digital Payments (SDP) within Visa University. The SDP is a new CEO-supported venture sitting within the Strategy organization. Our vision is to make Visa University the place everyone everywhere goes to learn about payments. We are looking for innovative intrapreneurs who are passionate about payments and the impact educating others about the industry and Visa’s place in it can have on individuals, businesses and economies globally.

Essentials:

  • Conduct market research to better understand customer needs, hone in on unmet client expectations, validate hypotheses about potential products and determine the total addressable market
  • Understand the economic value our existing and new learning products create for our target markets and determine value-based pricing; explore new methods including subscription models, etc.
  • Establish learning products as core (and VIK-eligible) offerings to our clients, merchants and partners through direct campaigns and existing sales channels
  • Evolve and launch Visa University brand to external audiences; integrate Visa Business School and School of Public Policy programs
  • Partner with Learning Enablement team to develop a platform to engage new audiences and drive new product offerings
  • Develop and manage social platform to engage learners and build community
  • Develop clever marketing campaigns and innovative channel, segment and market strategies to reach existing and new learners/customers
  • Leverage existing marketing channels across Visa Inc and other internal businesses
  • Assess opportunities to syndicate SDP content in other learning channels (e.g. Lynda.com, Pluralsight, etc.)
  • Lead integrated marketing planning and execution across all SDP products. Partner with the Dean of the SDP to determine product launch priorities and marketing needs
  • Determine appropriate KPIs for marketing plans and align them to business goals (e.g. customer survey, revenue/VIK)
  • Iterate on approaches based on SEO and Google Analytics data, performance metrics and B2B and consumer marketing trends

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications required; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in Marketing/Communications strategy development and execution; Visa experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, natural curiosity and a desire to drive and make an impact in the payments industry 
  • Demonstrated success in building brand awareness and creating engaging marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Excellent writing and creative content marketing skills
  • Experience with social platform management and marketing
  • Agency and channel partner management experience preferre
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional organization across all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong results orientation
  • Global mindset, do not suffer from “HQ syndrome”
  • Team player, skilled at developing relationships across levels and geographies and willing to pitch in where needed as we start up this exciting new business at Visa

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.

Work Hours

Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements

Location is flexible and requires willingness and ability to travel as needed.
