The Visa Global Business Solutions (VGBS) team has overall responsibility for all aspects of business strategy, development and management of B2B solutions, as well as platform development and commercial information management. VGBS serves clients engaged in providing payment products to small business, middle market and large corporate/multinational companies, governments and commercial supply chain/B2B segments.

Within VGBS, the Partnership & New Initiatives team drives growth by developing new partnerships, identifying new solutions, and solving for differentiated payment flows. These partnerships cover the largest tech titans, most creative FinTech's and key players in the B2B and T&E procure to pay process. We are looking for the right candidate to join our dynamic team and lead our strategic growth verticals.

Job Description

The Head of Vertical Partnerships will be accountable for driving our strategy and business development across critical growth verticals.  This role will work with the Visa Business Solutions Product/Platform, Sales, Strategy teams to identify gaps/new requirements for these verticals, identify leading players, and partner to deploy market leading solutions to meet issuer and end client needs.  In addition, the Head of Vertical Partnerships will be responsible for commercialization of vertical partnerships in the US market with the focus on driving sustainable revenue growth for Visa.  This individual will also work with regional counterparts to drive strategy to those regions.

The Business Solutions Partnerships team builds and executes on strategic, high profile, complex, cross-functional partnerships and new product initiatives that differentiate Visa.   As an executive member of the Business Solutions Partnerships & New Initiatives team, the selected candidate will design, develop and execute on partnerships- helping to identify key strategic partners to pursue and extend Visa’s reach.  In addition, the selected candidate will bring leadership, vision and creativity to both guiding and advancing Visa’s partnership strategy with emerging and established technology companies and innovators in the industry.

The Head of Vertical Partnerships will need to be a creative thinker with an outstanding ability to craft solutions that are complex whilst building real market differentiation for Visa. The role requires an ability to work in ambiguity in a matrix environment, influencing internally as well as externally to craft these ‘market firsts’ with new partners:

  • Find opportunities: Scans the internal and external environment to leverage new sources of data and information to identify opportunities

Experienced individual contributor with at least 10-15 years of progressive responsibilities and business experience. A consistent record in identifying business opportunities, developing partnerships and executing strategic initiatives in a highly matrixed environment. Previous experience working in technology, FinTech, and B2B payables preferred. You will be asked to:

Travel: 30-40% or as required.
