This is an exciting time to join U.S. Client Marketing – Merchant as we strengthen our focus on deepening relationships with established Merchants and launch Visa acceptance among emerging Merchant verticals.

As part of the U.S. Client Marketing team, the Director is responsible for the development and implementation of holistic marketing plans to support client, product and/or acceptance marketing campaigns in the U.S. with the goal of demonstrating the value Visa brings to commerce and cardholders.  Clients may include traditional/national retailers, cobrand partners, emerging acceptance opportunities, and strategic relationships.

The ideal candidate deeply understands the changing B2C and B2B marketing environment, has payments experience, and is driven to create breakthrough work across all channels. The key to this job is having a strong strategic mindset, amazing communication skills, and the passion to execute flawlessly.

Job Description

The Director will lead data-driven marketing initiatives for Visa’s U.S. Merchant clients, including retail, eCommerce, select cobrand partners and new acceptance opportunities.  The strategies will drive innovation and acceptance marketing agendas, cultivate and grow strategic marketing partnerships, and expand card acceptance in emerging segments.

  • Leverage industry and Visa data, market research, best practices, etc. to gather and synthesize deep audience insights and deliver relevant recommendations to clients/stakeholders
  • Design and oversee the successful execution of integrated B2C and B2B campaign activations, across multiple channels, including digital, social, OOH, experiential/event and point-of-sale
  • Quarterback communication with sales, legal, product, creative, experiential & media agencies and implement high-impact programs on-time and on-budget.
  • Optimize Visa Consumer and Commercial Marketing platforms/initiatives for Merchants
  • Leverage Visa’s iconic sponsorship platforms (NFL, Olympics, FIFA World Cup), as appropriate, to amplify Merchant and Visa’s objectives
  • Lead the measurement, analysis, and reporting of marketing program performance and its impact on business results
  • Develop and manage marketing contracts
  • Budget mnagement and financial discipline for all campaigns

Qualifications

We seek experienced, proactive, high-achieving professionals to build marketing solutions with and for our Merchant clients. Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or other relevant Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years business experience, with majority in marketing/advertising or consulting roles; strong experience in client/account management
  • Experience in B2C and B2B marketing and strategic partnership development; payments experience preferred
  • Strong business & financial acumen, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Strong project management, planning, teamwork, relationship-building skills and experience in leading through influence
  • Experience in managing creative, experiential, media, and social/digital agency partners
  • Ability to generate and manage work-back timelines and navigate risks/obstacles
  • Strong executive presence; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient on all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Advanced level PowerPoint required
  • Willingness to travel – less than 20% of the time
