Job Description

The Project Analyst role supplements the Debit Product Management team.  The team is focused on defining industry-leading feature/functionality for the Visa Debit Processing Product set.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Program Management, Issuer Processing & Enablement.  The Project Analyst will interact frequently with, but not limited to, Product, Development, Implementation, Call Center, and Account teams and is expected to contribute to the successful development and support of product functionality on time and on budget. The position will be based at Visa’s offices in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. 

The person filling this position will be responsible and accountable for coordinating activities and communicating status of projects related to new products, features and services that drive client satisfaction, differentiate the Visa DPS Debit Services product offering, and drive Visa Debit Processing Service revenues.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for supporting program team on project delivery ensuring cross functional area’s requirements and responsibilities are captured and delivered successfully

  • Understand project impact and fit on overall program development budget         

  • Track request through definition process phases

  • Schedule/participate in various Product meetings including strategy sessions, budget review sessions, and product requirement review sessions.  Capture notes, action items and any issues/changes identified

  • Participate in / facilitate meetings with limited product and technical level of knowledge

  • Develop project management schedule, manage moderate complexity project finances and generate accurate, and timely project status reports.  Capable of managing small to moderate sized cross functional projects autonomously.

  • Expected to capture and share information gained from projects or problems using the following means:  checklists, team meetings, conversations, etc.  Goal is to document team needs for his/her main service/product area in a reactionary mode. (i.e. after the fact) to prevent the same problem from happening again

  • Coordinate / Interface regularly with Technical Project Managers responsible for Software Development and Quality Assurance 

  • Coordinate / Interface regularly with cross functional Business partners (Account Management, Implementations, Certification, Documentation, etc) to ensure all tasks are identified

  • Primary focus is execution within defined parameters with some exception based on developing capabilities or experiences.  Delivers with mentoring and team support.

  • Track and provide regular updates regarding status on assigned projects

  • Responsible for delivering assigned project tasks and small projects in one or two product domains. 

  • Makes decisions on routine matters. Selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  Will provide guidance to others within main product/service area.

  • Provides improvement recommendations based on job experience.  May work in conjunction with teammates to improve processes.

  • Carries out assignments to ensure project goals and deliverables are met.

  • Provides direction to project team members.

  • Generates fairly innovative ideas, solutions, and opportunities, and is open to challenging current processes

  • Moderately diverse scope, and complexity requiring initiative and independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies.

  • Demonstrates Visa Leadership principles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required

  • 2-5 years’ project management experience while managing complex projects with some budget responsibilities

  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

  • Ability to support key influencers with accurate information

  • Outstanding communication skill to capture accurate project minutes, tasks, etc.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrated effective listening and questioning skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Emerging and developing project management professional.

  • Waterfall and/or Agile/Scrum experience

  • Solid skills in MS Office suite

  • Knowledge of industry and the card payments business is a plus

  • Introductory role to business knowledge / skill in a particular product / service area as acquired through several years’ experience, or formal training.  Dependent upon checklists as a guide for complex projects.
