The Technology Planning & Business Operations organization provides key strategic planning & business operations oversight and integration across the Technology organization.  This includes driving investment planning & budgeting, project & portfolio management, workforce planning activities, strategic initiative program management, and communications activities. The team is focused on improving efficiencies, transparency, consistency and collaboration within the Technology organization and other key cross-functional stakeholders

Job Description

The Sr. Analyst position will be responsible for driving forward Technology Procurement Strategy & Operations initiatives with a focus on optimizing Visa’s supplier spend and utilization of various technologies & external services (e.g. hardware, software, etc.) through detailed analysis and cross-functional stakeholder interaction.  This highly collaborative position will interface with key stakeholders across Technology, Sourcing, Finance, and Legal, and will report to the Vice President of Technology Strategic Initiatives.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the up-front build out and on-going management of a supplier portfolio database which captures key performance metrics such as supplier spend, internal utilization, key contract terms, and industry & competitive benchmarks

  • Conduct deep analysis of Technology & Operations supplier portfolio to drive go-forward technology product utilization roadmap, supplier strategy, and spend rationalization

  • Interface with various technology owners & stakeholders to understand their upcoming demand and technology strategy considerations (e.g. long-term architectures, proof of concepts, etc.)

  • Support the program management supplier-specific deals including timeline management, scenario planning, financial analysis, and Executive reviews

  • Provide ad hoc support for other business management & strategic initiative analysis as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; advanced degree a plus but not required

  • 7 -10 years of relevant experience in a business operations, procurement / supplier management, business analysis, or management consulting, ideally working within the financial or technology industries

Preferred Qualification

  • Prior experience in analyzing the utilization and spend across a Technology supplier portfolio including development of dashboards, reporting, and key performance indicators

  • Solid understanding of data visualation and data management tools such as Tableau, SQL, Access, etc.; experience in rationalizing and automating large / disparate data sets a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills; prior experience in developing and delivering Executive-level presentations

  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and ability to execute on multiple concurrent deliverables
