Organizational Summary

Technology Planning and Business Operations at Visa is a key enabling function that keeps the day-to-day running of the Technology organization humming along smoothly.  We deliver Technology wide programs, work diligently to constantly challenge the status quo, and we drive and continuously improve practices around investment portfolio governance and global project management methodology. We also play an important role in bringing Technology employees together to facilitate communication, innovation, and networking.

Job Purpose

This role will be part of the Business Operations & Performance Improvement team, whose purpose is to use data, analyses, qualitative information, process documentation, and business judgement to drive change and improvements for the entire Technology organization. The role will be project-based and will require the ability to adapt quickly and sometimes manage multiple priorities at the same time. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn, who is flexible, and who can collaborate across functional groups and locations. Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with multiple functions at Visa to deliver on high impact projects.

  • Understand and analyze a large range of various business or technical processes through process owner interviews, review of existing process documentation, or facilitated workshops

  • Summarize outcomes of workshops in meeting minutes, and keep track of action items and potential painpoints

  • Document current state processes and future state processes by leveraging MS Visio

  • Analyze large data set to understand trends and drive insights

  • Identify recommendations to improve processes

  • Occasionally use data and Lean/Six Sigma techniques to identify areas of improvement and deliver on them

  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative information so that it can be understood and discussed at the Senior Executive level

  • Manage stakeholder’s communication, initiative backlog, dependencies, etc.

  • Create presentations that clearly articulate findings and next steps

  • Apply interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders

  • Be an agent for change

  • Work independently to research subject matter, and interact with other departments and organizations across Visa to obtain and exchange information

  • Manage a moderate amount of concurrent assignments

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field (incl. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, etc.)

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in relative field

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency at manipulating high amount of data in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creative self-starter with a sense of urgency and persistence (“Get things done” attitude)

  • Collaborative and flexible, able to work with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams

  • Curious, able to push boundaries, ask “why?” and “why not?”, and is tenacious with problem-solving

  • Strong listening skills

  • Self-driven, able to work independently

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products for Windows including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Lean/Green Belt Six Sigma certification is a plus

  • SAFe/Agile proficiency is a plus

  • Experience in business consulting is a plus
