Real-time Payments at Visa is a global initiative with regional and market specific teams and efforts.  Real-Time Payments is a payment service that enables national infrastructures, supported by value added services across the entire payments value chain and all use cases. Real-Time Payments are positioned to serve both developed and emerging markets covering trillions of dollars in payments volume globally. 

 

The Real-Time Payments PMO lead/team member will work with stakeholders across all Visa Regions and local PMOs to implement, operate and improve a best in class tracking and performance management workstream.  In addition, this role will contribute to the overall strategic vision, planning and operation of Visa’s Payments business and requires strong change management and operations skills.   This is a matrix, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical.  This role will interface across all regions and multiple markets and engage with specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, corporate strategy, interchange/pricing, finance to coordinate the build, launch and support of new and existing products.  Visa is looking for individual that pays attention to detail, with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines, an ability to correlate data and trends to business drivers, but who can also think big and contribute to strategic planning, drive change management and lead executive messaging.

 

Successful candidates will take ownership of most non-financial planning, program management, reporting and communications consistent with our product strategy, drive to increase usage / overall value and ultimately build Visa brand loyalty.  This position may require occasional travel to client sites around the globe.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

Responsibilities:

  • Successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Setting up and running the global Real-Time Payments PMO and Business Operations function
    • Leading regional and local market teams to ensure consistency from global to local on all responsibilities
    • Setting, tracking and reporting on delivery timelines for:
      • Implementation and upgrade projects with external clients
      • Internal development and testing of RTP related capabilities
    • Coordinating the intersection and communication with internal functional stakeholders, such as Technology, Client Support Services, Finance, etc
  • Key business operations responsibilities will be to develop and operate the processes and systems that enable efficient tracking, reporting, and follow up with a broad cross-functional team.  This role requires the roll-up at the global level as well as leading the regional and local implementation of the same, including:
    • Business / strategy contributions
    • Market capability requirements
    • Performance tracking against market, regional and enterprise goals
    • Sales pipeline / Business development
    • Implementation – across all partner types
    • Product development (Close coordination with the Platform & Solutions team)
    • Operations – e.g., covering waivers, cross border, etc.
    • Interaction with Communications and Marketing for internal and external messaging
  • Additional key work outputs and accountabilities include:
    • Leading the identification and development of key project objectives, milestones, dependencies and success criteria in collaboration with the project sponsor and other stakeholders.
    • Ensuring risks are accounted for and that an appropriate risk management process is in place and followed appropriately by the project team.
    • Manages the project board, ensuring all stakeholders are kept up-to-date on the progress of the project, potential risks and delays, budget concerns, etc.
    • Briefs the project sponsor prior to board meetings and accompanies the project sponsor to board meetings as required.
    • Anticipates issues and delays that may occur during the project and puts contingency plans in place as appropriate.
    • Works with senior technical project and program management colleagues to understand key delivery dependencies and to ensure that projects are consistent with broader program objectives and timelines.
    • Responds to issues, challenges and concerns that arise during the project, challenging and pushing back as required.
    • Manages the relationship with both internal and external senior stakeholders, escalating to the Program Manager and/or the Portfolio director only in the most complex situations.
    • Acts as an escalation point for Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
    • Responsible for managing projects / project teams and developing plans and schedules to drive deliverables to on time and on budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects and programs across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Capability to lead and work in a global team with executive facing responsibilities as well as the ability to lead remote, regional and market teams

  • Excellent problem solving skills with a strong focus on serving clients.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate with evidence of tangible business results.
  • Passionate about what you do and fired up about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, data collection, buy-in and strong decision making abilities to elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately
  • Outstanding executive communication skills to develop presentations, associated summaries, and back up materials for program reporting.  Expert skills with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Cloud tracking tools are required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation necessary.  Active listening skills required
  • Proven project development experience:
    • Strong sense of urgency and experience driving to successful commercialization
    • Ensure personal efforts are integrated and aligned with functional objectives
    • Strong collaboration and influence skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams to drive deliverables, projects and engagements to completion
    • Take prompt, decisive action after analyzing relevant information
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audiences in an approachable way
  • An advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Comfort leading and working closely with cross-functional teams required
  • Visa and financial/payment industry knowledge as well as P2P, B2C and B2B market experience is a plus, but not required
