Job Description

Visa is a premier payments technology company with a global network connecting thousands of financial institutions with millions of merchants and cardholders every day. As part of the Merchant Sales and Solutions organization, the Global Services Team drives tangible, impactful, innovative and intelligent payment solutions and results for Visa marquee and strategic enterprise accounts worldwide.

As a Senior Engagement Manager, you will have primary responsibility to manage a specialized cross-functional team in working with strategic partners on a global basis. The Senior Engagement Manager is responsible for understanding partners’ needs in-depth in order to facilitate the delivery of payment-related solutions that further their strategic objectives; this role is execution-focused and requires strong partner advocacy while overseeing product development and influencing product roadmaps within the broader CyberSource organization.  Senior Engagement Managers, working in cooperation with sales, relationship management, technology, and delivery teams, are responsible for bringing innovative payment solutions to market to help differentiate Visa’s strategic partners, enable sustained revenue growth, extend core product/service offerings, increase customer value, and strengthen overall account relationships. 

Success in this role requires industry-leading expertise in understanding and explaining the evolving payment ecosystem, product development and delivery, as well as partner advocacy and management. Strong oral and written communication skills, business development, product development, and relationship management skills are essential. Regular travel to partner locations will be required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-18 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD or PhD)

    • 8+ years of professional consulting experience with considerable enterprise delivery experience

    • 6+ years of experience in a product management, ideally using multiple software development methodologies

    • 5+ years payment industry domain expertise

  • Quantitative-focused bachelor's degree in Business, or Computer Science or similar bachelor's degree

  • Extensive experience with alternatives analysis, financial modeling, and risk management

  • Ability to manage customer expectations and able to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Strategic analysis background in financial services and/or emerging technologies

Additional Information

Essential Functions

  • Help define and manage partner needs – Use in-depth understanding of partners’ strategic objectives and payment solution priorities to facilitate effective product development of go-to-market solutions

  • Deliver payment solutions actively manage and report on all aspects of product management, anticipating timeline and delivery quality challenges in order to provide effective risk mitigation strategies

  • Influence Product Features/Roadmap – coordinate with peers and co-workers to identify and facilitate broader adoption of new partner functionality in product roadmaps

  • Cultivate Account Relationships – strengthen and deepen strategic relationship with partners by successfully providing payment solution thought leadership and market delivery


Travel Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 25% to 50% of the time.


Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
