Job Description

What’s it all about? 

The Business Solutions Implementation team use global expertise to build and lead a variety of implementation activities for Visa clients utilizing the Visa Business Solutions for commercial card products. 

This is an individual contributor role responsible for providing complex implementation management and business leadership (plan, direct, coordinate and lead activities, etc.) within Visa for the Business Solutions suite of products. This role serves as a subject matter specialist and works independently. 

As a project manager, you will lead complex and multi-layer implementations for new and existing Visa clients. You will ensure expectations are exceeded using Project Management Methodology best practices and skills. 

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • As a subject matter expert on multiple services, acquire and maintain a deep understanding of supported services to train customer and internal stakeholders. Partner with issuers assigned Account Executives to identify additional business opportunities. 

  • Develop and manage strategic planning, operational initiatives, special projects and client-driven continuous improvement plans. 

  • Serve as a consultant to clients and internal teams to provide technical expertise. This will serve to structure an effective implementation

  • Liaise, build and enhance relationships with Issuers, companies and various Visa teams (Product, Sales, Engagement, Development, Operations, and BSS) to bring success completion of projects and to represent the client’s interest within Visa. 

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project plans, status reports and issue logs to enhance external and internal communications. 

  • Manage non-routine, complex implementations/migrations as well as tactical and strategic clients and Visa initiatives. 

  • Provide onsite/remote client training and re-training for the supported Business Solutions product suite. 

  • Build and enhance positive working relationships with key Visa client institutions, processors and internal stakeholders. 

  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement recommendations to increase service quality and/or efficiency. 

  • Assist with developing, implementing and monitoring departmental goals/ functional strategies to ensure achievement. 

  • Identify and analyse issues with client impacts 

  • Responsible for own assignments and must be able to take the initiative to resolve issues and meet deadlines. 

  • Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities and issues related to Visa’s goals. 

  • Stay current with industry and client trends and maintain a strong knowledge of Visa products and services. 

  • Responsible for accurately recording project progression within CRM system. 
    Develop, coach and mentor more junior team members.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required as cross-functional activities must be completed during this process. What we’re after…

  • Bachelors/Degree or equivalent experience. Requires progressively responsible experience in an implementation support role in software, financial or information services. 

  • Extensive experience in using project management methodology is required. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing customers and staff at all levels. 

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to absorb technical information and apply to business solutions. 

  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans. 

  • Proven experience in providing onsite training to customer. 

  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply to business solutions. 

  • Customer focus with proven ability in providing technical and consultative support to external customers and identify business needs. 

  • Ability to set priorities and manage customer expectations, and work both as part of a team and independently. 

  • Needs to be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task under deadlines, influence others, and manage customer expectations. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in using standard MS Office tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.). 

  • Excellent business ethics is required and the successful candidate will have experience and demonstrated success in the above listed core competencies. 

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical terms or processes into business language. 

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills are required. 

Additional experience with supporting and migrating business data for complex ERP systems dealing with financial expense management (e.g. Concur, Works, Fraedom) is beneficial but not required.
