Job Description

What’s it all about?

The FBP will provide financial and commercial support to VISA’s MS&A (Merchant Sales & Acquiring) division. The role holder will have a broad range of responsibilities including leading the financial control, planning and analysis, period end accounting and production of relevant financial analysis reporting on a regular basis. The successful candidate will be working closely with the leadership team of the division and supporting their strategic targets through reporting and commercial support.

The FBP will report to the Senior Finance Business Partner and will work closely with VISA Finance teams including Financial Controllership and central FP&A in Europe in parallel with other functions and clusters, as well as the Global Finance Business Partners.

This is a ‘hands-on’ role for a self-starter individual who will help shape the direction of the business and provide an independent challenge to key commercial and investment decisions. The incumbent will lead decision support and appropriate financial analytics to respond to business requirements and drive decision making. The role will be highly involved in the financial controls relevant to the integration of strategic growth initiatives in Europe.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Oversees divisional P&L and Balance Sheet accounting and reporting; ensuring appropriate processes and controls are in place, and that the financial position is correctly understood, interpreted and communicated to the division
  • Provide commentary for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to VISA Europe/ Global FP&A teams as well as BU leadership; MI reporting for Monthly and Quarterly business reviews
  • Represent the division in any discussions relating to Finance; liaising with the Central Finance team to ensure all finance policies and initiatives are communicated, understood and implemented consistently across the business
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within Europe and Global HQ, to align with global reporting
  • Provide advice, interpretation and guidance on finance policies, practices and processes to the divisions
  • Support preparation and delivery of Financial Forecasts and Budget
  • Maximise value achieved by driving commercial thinking across the divisions and influence the outcomes by providing challenge and support to the divisions’ leadership team, ensuring decisions are commercially sound and in the best interests of VISA
  • Develop Financial processes to support the business needs and implementation of new initiatives
  • Drive improvements across the divisions in forecast accuracy and streamline the forecast process
  • Financial analysis of existing merchants and acquirers
  • Support other areas of Planning, Reporting & Analysis when required
  • Assist and respond to ad hoc queries in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ad hoc analysis and input into presentations for BU Leadership and Finance

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Accounting Qualification (ACCA,CIMA, ACA) with post qualified experience is required
  • Business Partnering experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and strong track record in a results-oriented matrix environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and ability to clearly communicate results with senior level executives, building credibility as a "peer" with business leaders in regional functions
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, and the ability to interpret trends, identify issues and recommend actions
  • A Self-starter with ability to work independently with limited guidance within a complex and commercially oriented environment
  • Team oriented, collaborative, tactful, and flexible, with good presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint required as well as experience with a complex financial system (e.g., Hyperion, TM1, COGNOS, ERIC, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in the payments and banking industry is preferred
