Job Description

Identity & Risk Products focuses on building and deploying innovative technologies to enable and secure identities, accounts and payment transactions around the globe. Our mission is to launch new, market-leading offerings that create tremendous value for our clients (e.g. Issuers, Acquirers, Merchants, Processors, and Emerging Payments Providers). To effect this transformation across the globe, we are looking for a leader who is passionate about innovating and driving truly differentiated Identity product offerings, including technology, data assets, decision science, operating rules and strategic partnerships and acquisitions.

The Senior Director of Identity will drive Visa’s Digital Identity product strategy from new product commercialization thru target levels of adoption and utilization. This individual will evolve the product vision and roadmap, scale and develop the product team, and partner with Visa Technology teams and third party service providers to deliver on that vision.

Successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, strong knowledge of the digital identity market trends, solutions and technologies, excellent communication and product commercialization skills, and applied strategy in digital identity product offerings. This individual will work with experts throughout the company to identify, prioritize and develop new digital identity products and optimize Visa’s existing identity validation, verification, and authentication capabilities across a variety of use cases ranging from account origination through transaction risk management.

In addition, this role will contribute to the overall strategic vision, planning and operation of Visa Identity and Risk Product solution portfolio.

This is a matrixed, cross functional role, so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical. This role will interface across all regions and multiple markets and engage with specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, standards, corporate strategy, interchange/pricing, finance to coordinate the build, launch and support of new and existing products. Visa is looking for an individual that pays attention to detail, with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines, an ability to correlate data and trends to business drivers, but who can also think big and contribute to strategic planning, drive change management and lead executive messaging.

This position requires occasional travel to client sites and Visa sites around the globe.

This role can be located in Foster City, San Francisco, or Austin

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven work experience in product management leadership role, from ideation to commercial success

  • Strong understanding and proven work experience on Identity products, solutions and technologies

  • Proven experience and understanding of product development methodologies

  • Entrepreneurial approach to rapidly testing new product concepts in the market and incorporating learnings

  • Demonstrated track record of developing product strategies based on business objectives and coordinating the successful implementation to deliver measurable business results

  • Attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products brought to market

  • Hands-on and consistently turn strategies into execution and results

  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to influence and instill confidence with stakeholders at all levels and in all functions/geographies

  • Ability to steer sales and marketing efforts on identity products with sound statistical and financial analysis; execute ad-hoc analyses to meet the fast-changing market demands

Additional Information

Essential Functions

  • Successful candidate will be responsible for driving product vision, product roadmap, solution development, commercialization and client adoption for innovative Digital Identity solutions

  • Lead team responsible for day-to-day product management of Digital Identity solutions which includes product performance, global commercialization and client engagement

  • Regularly review market and client landscape and recommend, develop and implement new and creative approaches to expanding product capabilities

  • Contribute to the product development process from ideation through market adoption

  • Develop business cases for new digital identity product development via sound market, statistical, and data analyses

  • Identify, create and support new revenue sources through the development of new digital identity products and solutions

  • Assist with the development and execution of short-term, intermediate, and long-term strategic business development plans for Visa’s digital identity products

  • Establish and maintain strong communications with our development teams, predictive analytic teams, issuers, acquirers, merchants and other partners

  • Develop business cases for strategic partnerships and acquisitions for new solutions, technologies and data sources

  • Serve as an evangelist and thought leader for Visa in Digital Identity

  • Capture, develop, and deliver ideas/processes that improve Visa’s patent portfolio

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Hours 

Incumbent must make themselves available for meetings with clients and Visa regional teams early morning and evenings occasionally as needed

 

Travel Requirements 

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.
