Job Description
The Acceptance Sales and Solutions team is responsible for developing and managing acquirer and technology partner relationships and sales activities. The group is also responsible for business development efforts to expand Visa acceptance in new segments.
This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, particularly within the Acquirer and Merchant Sales, Acceptance Strategy and Solutions, Product, Operations, Legal and Pricing teams, both locally and globally, to implement acceptance strategies and to optimize business performance with key merchants, acquirers and technology partners.
The position is based in Visa's Toronto office and consists of the following primary responsibilities:
Develop and manage day-to-day relationships with new and established payments technology providers and fintechs, to deliver on Visa’s acceptance strategy, including using a consultative sales approach, ensuring Visa and that client’s business objectives are met
Supporting the Senior Director, develop acceptance strategies and plans to penetrate new segments where Visa is currently underpenetrated
Working with the North American business development team, implement segment plans, including identifying, developing and executing strategic partnerships, to achieve Visa acceptance in targeted segments
Working with the Global Acceptance Strategy, Rules, Merchant Sales and Acquiring Sales teams to support the development and rollout of Visa acceptance rules, including responsibility for in-market business recommendations and driving internal and external stakeholder communication
Provide development and sell-in support of Visa products and solutions, ensuring that Acceptance clients’ (Merchants, Acquirers and Technology Partners) business needs are represented and addressed
Support the development of annual plans, strategic presentations, reporting and other executive level documents as required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA), ideally with a combination of product/project management and client management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A background in payments industry is preferred.
Proven leadership skills and demonstrated successes in leading complex cross-enterprise projects, in a matrixed environment, managing multiple stakeholders at both executive and junior levels, internal and external to the organization
Demonstrated ability to influence groups or individuals over which one does not have direct authority
Proven track record of consultative selling, managing clients or developing and fostering partnerships
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem solve when the path forward is unclear and limited information is available
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to senior management and external business partners with impact
A demonstrated understanding of financial indicators to measure business performance/ROI and an ability to summarize business & financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making
Strong project management skills: organized, with excellent attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and Outlook); Advanced level PowerPoint preferred
