Job Description

Purpose

To lead commercialization & deployment of Visa’s travel prepaid solutions and capabilities, along with leading Visa’s cross-border efforts. The role will be responsible for demonstrating thought leadership in the area of travel prepaid products, implement portfolio enhancement initiatives to accelerate client business growth, working closely with senior stakeholders in client organizations, within Visa and with other key industry stakeholders. The role holder must work closely with CRM (client relationship management) & other functional groups such as merchant solutions, marketing, digital & innovation teams to lead successful efforts by Visa in winning new business and delivering objectives both FI and non-FI clients and partners.  The role requires a senior professional to work with Visa’s clients in supporting product development, portfolio management, research and marketing. The person in this role will require proven product & project management skills

Key Result Areas

  • Develop and execute on the product strategy for the travel prepaid business covering India and South Asia and deliver on the requisite financials such as net revenue yield, cards, payments volume, x-border volume and transactions
  • Develop and execute Visa India and South Asia’s cross-border strategy.
  • Commercialize Visa’s travel prepaid solution through product & distribution partnerships with FIs (banks, NBFCs, CatAD2 players, FFMCs), non FIs, fintech and technology players.
  • Lead market expansion through identification of use cases across consumer, commercial, government businesses - creating new growth opportunities for Visa
  • Deliver on product solutions encompassing core products & digital capabilities (NFC, P2P, tokenization, Visa APIs, ecommerce solutions, QR payments, mobile/ web solutions)
  • Work closely with the Visa’s global & regional teams in defining GTM strategy for new Visa products & capabilities including enhancement, localization, deployment & pricing
  • Develop products, value proposition, pricing models, distribution plays, and implement rules that support judicious business growth
  • Leverage opportunities to co-create product propositions, consulting & analytical solutions for clients
  • Plan & execute efficacious client & consumer campaigns to bolster portfolio metrics
  • Manage & lead representation for favorable framework with internal & external stakeholders including government relations, regulators, trade bodies, industry forums

Key Performance indicators

  • Financial performance indicators for travel prepaid products across segments, consisting of gross/net revenue targets, A&P budgets, product metrics
  • Market & segment expansion through identification of new use cases, deepening partnerships with existing clients and onboarding new clients
  • Launching new solutions as a result of cross-functional collaboration using Visa’s products, capabilities/ or through fintech, processor partnerships
  • Successful product & market strategies to counter competitive threats
  • Implementation of product rules & compliance to Visa’s policies
  • Manage ongoing client support activities, client consultation, project delivery
  • Business planning, management reporting, analytics
  • Campaign management & delivery

Qualifications

  • Senior professional with minimum of 12-15 years of experience and at least 8-10 years of experience in the payments industry, preferably in product development, product management & strategy
  • Experience in financial services, fintechs, telecom, retail and ecommerce will be an advantage
  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in business, engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in P&L ownership & sharp understanding of macroeconomics, consumer behavior, product operations, business processes
  • Candidate should have established credentials in delivering product & business solutions and keen interest in payment technology & innovation
  • Understanding of network product, rules, technology will be advantageous
  • Candidate should have team handling capabilities & work experience across geographies (including overview of South Asian economies) would be preferred

  • Direct & demonstrated capabilities in digital payments encompassing core payment products, mobile & eCommerce platforms
  • Product & project management experience with expertise in system architecture, payment flows across products
  • Sound business acumen, analytical skills and keen understanding of new technology payment business models and profitability drivers 
  • Candidate should be well versed with extant payment systems & new technology in payments, with a thorough understanding of regulatory framework
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, coupled with demonstrated negotiation and business development skills as the position requires interaction with senior professionals in financial institutions, Visa and alliance partners
  • Self-motivated, results driven, flexible, customer focused. Should be a strong team-player
  • Ability and experience of working in a multi-cultural, matrix environment is required
