What’s it all about?

In France/Belgium/Luxembourg, Visa has significant opportunity to improve acceptance of increase the number of transactions which are declined today and growth opportunity within sectors which don’t accept electronic payments or where transaction penetration is below market average. The role of Head of acceptance is to build business cases for increased acceptance across the region in specific sectors and segments and will provide operational insight to acquirers and merchants to improve customer experience and increase acceptance penetration. The position is part of the MS&A Organisation and is based in Paris.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • You will deliver a plan to increase authorisation rate / increase contactless penetration  / to expand of Visa acceptance in FBL in new verticals
  • You will support function lead in identify size of opportunity for different product propositions that may be constructed from the core product capabilities
  • You will support function lead in identify and prioritise appropriate clients, third parties and segments for acceptance expansion by segmenting opportunity and targeting the most attractive ones.
  • You will provide subject matter expertise to clients on core elements of the acceptance proposition
  • You will provide voice for the customer to various teams including Product, Risk, Marketing on development of new features that may be required to open up new sectors or increase acceptance and penetration.
  • You will launch pilots to initially prove the new concept in Europe and use these pilots as a foundation for commercial launches and a showcase for our wider capabilities.
  • You will provide subject matter expertise for acceptance domain to clients pre-and post-sale.
  • You will lead sector development opportunities and manage implementation of acceptance services.
  • Everyone is a leader at Visa, and you will be building on team’s analytical skills and business knowledge, sharing your subject matter expertise and acting in a mentorship capacity where appropriate.

Qualifications

What we’re after…

Professional

  • Extensive sales or business development experience in payment industry, with strong account management, project management and relationship management, business consultation experience from across the following vertical or functions: consumer banking, cards issuing, merchant acquiring

Technical 

  • Strong technical knowledge of payment and cards industry specifically in France (knowledge protocols, rules of schemes)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills and ability to influence strategy while driving tactical program execution
  • Project and Financial management
  • Deal structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Business consultation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good MS Office PC Knowledge 

Business

  • Significant experience in the payments industry with a keen interest in acquiring and merchant acceptance products and solutions
  • Strategic thinking combined with good business acumen
  • Strong account management and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills
  • Digital mindset and adaptive leadership
