Job Description

Visa Direct is a real-time payments platform that enables account to account money transfer utilizing card (debit, prepaid, credit) as well as account credentials for four primary use cases: p2p, funds disbursements, bill pay, and merchant payments.  Through Visa Direct, companies can reach the world through one simple connection that provides robust operating scale and bank grade risk/compliance.  Visa’s unparalleled reach is over 95% of consumers and small businesses in our top 50 markets.  With this reach, Visa provides partners access to Visa’s unmatched global scale and ecosystem powering a fundamental shift in the way money moves around the world. The candidate will support the secure and sustained growth of our Visa Direct product and our clients’ programs as a risk subject matter expert focused on this new payment flow and its unfolding use cases.

The candidate will work in close engagement with the Global Visa Direct Risk lead and North America (NA) regional product teams to support program launches of clients to ensure successful activation and growth in NA.  In addition, they will be the champion for Visa Direct product and performance education within NA Risk and Risk Products. Supporting colleagues across NA Risk in building their knowledge about the unique characteristics of the product, collaborating on responding to new NA region risks and driving new requirements for support of Visa Direct in the Visa suite of Risk Products. Key areas of responsibility include: 1) Development of tools and materials to monitor performance and engage with stakeholders and 2) engage with product to ensure new risks are identified and addressed during use case development and program launches)  

Key Accountabilities

·       Development of tools and materials to monitor performance and engagement with key clients

o   Monitor and communicate performance with stakeholder clients, with specific focus on strategic client programs within NA.  Advise on best practices to address risk and performance opportunities and work with them to address any issues that may arise

  • Influence originators to establish best in class fraud prevention practices based on Visa collective learnings
  • Engage with issuers’ risk teams to educate and influence fraud prevention and authorization practices

o   Build risk storylines, engagement plans and content for product and use cases

o   Work with analytics teams to continually improve reporting functionality to  drive actionable insights

o   Educate NA  partners on product risks and tools

·       Engage with product to ensure ecosystem risk is addressed during use case development and program launches

o   Partner to drive risk discussion and education with key NA client launches

o   Develop and maintain risk mitigation best practices and shared learnings

o   Drive adoption of secure technologies (3DS, Token)

o   Conduct industry research on payment security trends to drive strong performance

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelors + 12 years of relevant experience in risk management
Preferred:
  • 14+ years of experience, including specifically in engaging and advising clients to adopt risk management best practices that will accelerate the sound growth of their payment business
  • Strong ability to communicate, collaborate and influence within a global, matrix organization
  • Deep knowledge of the payments industry and the major trends affecting our stakeholders, including regulatory, market environment, competitive landscape, and technology
  • Established reputation for building peer like relationships with senior client and partner leaders and being able to communicate and influence other teams
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment, while demonstrating grace under pressure and comfort with problem solving ambiguity
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to quickly grasp new payment services and develop corresponding risk and fraud management best practices for client
  • A proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to think creatively to solve unstructured problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience establishing strong working relationships across different functions and organizations.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly at all levels of management, including interaction with executive decision makers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of information and data.
