Job Description

Visa’s Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team is going through an exciting period of transformation as we seek to align with our regional revenue and expense reporting structures and expand our level of influence from financial planning and analytics to more strategic decision support. We are seeking a stellar Financial Analyst to drive the decision support, planning, analytics and reporting for Visa Inc. Operating Expenses. The position will work closely to support activities in the External Reporting, Controllership, Treasury and Investor Relations.

Essential Functions 

  • Serve as a data and analytics go-to person supporting a Corporate Operating Expense team, including:

  • Leverage available systems, advanced Excel skills and analytical acumen to design, build and maintain various flexible reporting models that enable quality analysis for the team; strive for “push button” reporting to optimize team’s time spent on analysis vs. data retrieval and validation

  • Become a subject matter expert for the key financial reporting systems and business intelligence tools such as Hyperion and TM1

  • Ensure financial data accuracy, integrity and consistency; create and maintain job aid documentation for the end users to ensure continuity

  • Contribute to new reporting development and improve quality and presentation of existing reporting; participating in streamlining forecasting methodologies in key operating expense accounts

  • Explore opportunities and make recommendation on the process and reporting improvements

    Expand scope overtime to support a broader set of intelligence tools beyond financial systems, including but not limited to:

  • Research existing/new data sources to enhance existing analytical capabilities and work with data owners to obtain and resolve reporting issues

  • Assist in analytics and communication of key financial revenue driver trends and performance

  • Own and maintain Results Analysis model for management reporting team; including pre-close activities and generating automated schedules for the executive reporting

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience or

  • More than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred but not required, and three or more years of progressive professional accounting experience, preferably in a publicly-traded company or with a public accounting firm

  • Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including solid written, oral, and presentation skills and ability to work well under pressure and interact at all levels.

  • Strong Excel and proficiency with Hyperion/TM1 reporting systems preferred

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks, possess good organizational, communication, and analytical skills, able to work independently, and be extremely flexible due to changing demands and conflicting priorities

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Background with continuous improvement methodologies, driving increases in efficiency / effectiveness

  • Welcomes challenging/complex projects and demonstrates an ability for working "smarter not harder" by making continuous improvement to the efficiency of processes he/she contributes to

  • Teamwork is essential to the group, so it is critical that the candidate interact with other team members and managers effectively

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
