Powering the future of global business payments

Earlier this year Visa launched ‘B2B Connect’, a new solution to improve the way that businesses across the world transfer funds. Leveraging blockchain technology B2B Connect provides financial institutions and their business customers with improved transparency; same or next day settlement; lower costs; and reduced errors and rework.

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing this exciting new product in the Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific markets. You will work with leading financial institutions and become part of a dynamic, innovative team that is focused on delivering first class customer solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

What will your typical day look like?

  • You will represent Visa B2B Connect and Visa Business Solutions with our existing and prospective Clients at a senior level and make a compelling case for this new solution. This will require challenging other long established services providers and principles of correspondent banking and make a strong case for change.
  • You will be required to manage Visa B2B Connect sales in Australasia, and so you will need to be build and share a compelling pipeline, then manage the pipeline through to successful implementation. To do this effectively, you will need to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholder groups and report to the local Visa Business Solutions team management. You will also need to source new relationships to Visa relating to the international payment segment through our traditional financial institution channels and direct to corporate networks
  • The Visa B2B Connect product is at an early stage of its lifecycle and as so, you will be required to liaise with the regional and global product team to provide client feedback, build use cases and assist with the future development of the product. Client feedback will be critical and the ‘anchor’ clients for the service will require close relationship management. 
  • It will be necessary for the successful candidate to direct awareness campaigns, identify stakeholders and lead discussions, work with the product team to deliver proposals. You will be required to understand product functionality, product pricing, regulatory and compliance issues. In addition, you will need to gain an understanding of the technology, compliance and operational environment of target customers in order to be able to consider these issues when working with clients.
  • In this role you will need to continue the customer relationship to uncover new opportunities as the Visa B2B Connect product evolves. To meet your customer needs, you will need to advocate new functionality or processes with the Visa B2B Connect product team and make active contributions to the product roadmap.
  • As a member of the Visa Business Solutions sales team, you will be required to contribute your knowledge of Treasury banking products to other areas of the Visa Business Solutions business, and support your sales and Account Executive colleagues. In particular, you will need to have a good understanding of key regulatory changes in Australasia, and structural changes in the Australasia payments market.

Qualifications

Essential

  • We require the successful candidate to be educated to university degree level.
  • You are an individual with a proven record of accomplishment relating to complex solutions sales activity in the cross-border payment environment.
  • You have a high level of energy and desire to educate both customers and internal colleagues on the capabilities and benefits of technical, financial products. As such you will have the ability to make complex solutions understandable and engaging for your audience.
  • You have a track history of being self-motivated and working within a high performing team.
  • You are able to demonstrate how you have managed projects to ensure successful outcomes for customers and providers.
  • You are an individual with excellent presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills and who has the ability to manage the sales process from awareness, through negotiation and finally to closure.
  • You have a working knowledge of the correspondent banking process and the different models for cross border transaction processing, including the role of SWIFT and other competitors.
  • You must be able to engage with senior client contacts in the Treasury Services and Transaction Banking segment to engage and sell Visa B2B Connect and other associated products. 
  • You have excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills that will be a critical part of your internal and external communications.
  • You have 12+ years of relevant commercial experience

Preferred

  • It is likely that you have a history of technical, software or financial services sales and that you have a track history of engaging with senior customer contacts during complex sales processes that require approval from multiple stakeholders.
  • It is likely that you have extensive experience of using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Additional qualifications relating to business, technology or finance would be highly regarded.
