Job Description

Provide legal services within Visa’s CEMEA region with particular focus on supporting Products team in CEMEA countries and hub office on the roll out of Visa Products including but not limited to Visa Direct and B2B Connect, as well as other Visa Products to enable the organization to supply new, innovative and game changing products and services within applicable legal and regulatory parameters.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULTS AREA

  • Advising Visa of legal requirements for the relevant jurisdictions, managing advice from external counsel where appropriate for the successful implementation and expansion of Visa Direct and related Visa Product offerings and services;
  • Acting as regional contact for the preparation and negotiation of Visa Direct, B2B Connect and other Visa Products for commercial contracts, supplier agreements, marketing support agreements including Olympics and FIFA sponsorships as well as in  market sponsorships and media campaigns, and other commercial agreements;
  • Advising on arrangements with strategic commercial partners for Visa Direct, B2B Connect and other Visa Product initiatives and other arrangements including drafting and negotiating relevant agreements;
  • Supporting Visa CEMEA markets with respect to all appropriate governmental filings, privacy and data compliance requirements for Visa Direct, B2B Connect and all new Products and related services;
  • Providing legal advice to local Products team on all their day to day legal and regulatory requirements including but not limited to the Visa Direct and B2B Connect teams; and
  • Assisting local staff with approval of internal, external communications and presentations.

DECISION MAKING & COMPLEXITY

  • Work with global teams, in particular functional and other regions, to ensure effective matrix management of assigned business divisions
  • Advise on local matters whilst seeking to ensure legal and business objectives are effectively implemented
  • Manage assigned business divisions within complex geographical legislative environment

Qualifications

  • Law degree minimum requirement
  • Minimum 7-9 years PQE
  • Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Experience working in a US Multinational/ highly matrix organisation is preferred
  • Experience in payment industry advantageous (but not essential)
  • A working knowledge of Arabic and/or French languages are an advantage
