What’s it all about?

The Head of Digital Marketing Capability will lead and deliver Visa Europe’s strategy for digital marketing capabilities, with focus on building capabilities that enable Visa to become the most creative and data led marketer. This role will lead the build and development of capabilities across digital marketing strategy, data and targeting, partnerships, tools, ad tech, focusing on accelerating our progress to being best in class. A vital capability will be internal and external relationships, ways of working and processes, including relationships with agencies, central and global teams and with the VE markets. This position will play a critical role and will need to build and deliver against a comprehensive strategy and roadmap of capabilities that will lead to Visa fulfilling its marketing capability vision. In addition, this role will drive best practice, while enhancing the skill and capabilities throughout our teams.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Develop the strategy for Visa across Digital Marketing Capability in Europe, by defining which capabilities need to be built, in what order, with what level of investment, with what roles, partnerships and collaboration and with what strategy.
  • Spearhead the build and development of capabilities including (but not limited to) digital marketing strategy, data and targeting, partnerships, tools, platforms and ad tech, including internal and external ways of working.
  • Develop and implement innovative digital marketing capabilities that are integrated with Visa’s marketing objectives/goals/vision and those of its clients and merchant partners.
  • Drive and maximize collaboration with agency partners to develop and implement integrated strategy, planning and program execution, together with a solid test and learn approach.
  • Lead and build the relationships in Europe with key partners such as Google, and set and deliver against a strategy for Visa Europe partnerships overall.
  • Develop internal capabilities in digital marketing by helping develop talent across our marketing teams in Europe and by developing and implementing digital marketing standards, policies and rules of engagement.
  • Establish best practices for markets across the European region including; strategy, planning, tracking/measurement, reporting, analysis, forecasting and optimization to ensure delivery against KPIs.
  • Define KPIs and implement measurement, analytics and reporting methods to gauge success, providing key data and analysis across digital marketing, content and media to internal/external teams and clients.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the team and build strong partnerships across the functional business groups, VE markets and with the Global marketing team.
  • Leverage existing knowledge, expertise within the global team to deliver digital marketing capabilities for VE and also vice versa. 

Qualifications

  • Work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams – displaying proven ability in running a team, controlling timelines and budgets, anticipating issues and working towards solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong technical proficiency in all aspects of digital marketing capabilities, including credibility with key platform partners and agencies.
  • Able to analyse and synthesise data to inform future recommendations and decisions
  • Strong organisational skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience of strategy development and delivery.  
  • Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • Personal gravitas, excellent relationship building skills, influencing and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
