Job Description

This critical role will be responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of the Global Treasury Systems and PMO Services organization to support the long term objectives and mission of Visa’s Global Treasury function.  The role is responsible for understanding key finance processes and systems, creating a long term vision, and in that context identifying opportunities for improvement and driving the necessary change to support transformational business activities. Managing a team of project managers and business analyst, the candidate is responsible for the delivery of the Treasury Technology Architecture Program (TTAP) consisting of multiple overlapping projects to replace Treasury legacy applications with state of the art architecture designed to accommodate future Visa products whether they are processed on or off VisaNet. Aligning the long term vision for finance processes and systems with related system changes and roadmaps being driven by other internal groups

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and continuously manage the comprehensive TTAP project schedule, reporting and program governance (e.g. executive, steering committee, partners and users)
  • Drive the strategy and ownership model around finance reporting systems (statutory and managerial) as well as the overall data strategy for finance data (ex: chart of accounts, revenue, and subscriptions) that are used elsewhere in the company.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from Treasury, Product teams, Credit Settlement Risk, Audit, various technology teams to define and implement TTAP.
  • Understand and manage the interdependencies between projects managed within TTAP and other initiatives that affect Treasury to identify and mitigate impact of resource conflicts to the work stream timelines.
  • Assess current state capabilities (process, data and technology) and map the gaps between the current state capabilities and the desired future state. Ensure that that the Treasury Technology Architecture Program address those key requirements.
  • Align the finance vision and roadmap with systems changes and roadmaps being driven by other internal groups in support of the business model transformation. (e.g. Visa Business Connect, Faster Payments, Intraday Settlement, B2B Connect)
  • Provide guidance on organizations, policies and the way that Finance will deliver against their transactional and strategic responsibilities in the future based on the overall goals of the organization.
  • Align key stakeholders around a business case for change and work with existing process owners to plan and execute against the established roadmap.
  • Partner with technology teams to develop architecture and processes to promote data integrity of financial systems.
  • Review process improvement opportunities across Finance and the related business cases.  Work with senior management team to prioritize opportunities to optimize resources.
  • Drive annual strategic planning process as it relates to financial systems and process opportunities.  Provide support needed to secure resources per the project governance model.
  • Serve as spokesperson for the function and continue to drive adoption of business case development and initiation of programs/projects. 
  • Manage a diverse team of technical and non tech team members and develop career paths for them.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate for the position will have experience managing a portfolio of interrelated projects and the demonstrated ability to effectively manage in a matrix environment with multiple technology teams, vendors and complex set of stakeholders from various business functions.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in directly relevant program/project management roles in technology portfolio and program management, business analysis, planning and operations, and/or related functions. Proven experience leading and managing complex, cross-organizational technology programs, and projects is critical.
  • Ideal candidate will have proven experience implementing software solutions supporting treasury or payment platforms. Knowledge of transactions banking and domestic payment schemes (e.g. SEPA, ACH, CHIPS and Faster Payments) helpful.
  • Knowledge of Visa’s annual planning, financial management, sourcing and procurement, internal audit, compliance, and related technical and business processes based on prior Visa experience would be helpful. 
  • Highly proficient written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly skilled in the creation of presentations, new reporting mechanisms and other documents. High level of attention to detail, including the ability to assess, and synthesize large amounts of content and data related to program status, issues, risks, dependencies, and schedules and distill it in crisp clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences including technology and business executives. 
  • Highly developed analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles. 
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels. An ability to influence without direct authority, as well as demonstrate an appropriate level of assertiveness, is critical. 
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint) required.
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, JIRA and Wiki strongly preferred.  Some experience serving as administrator of such tools would be helpful. 
  • Candidate must be able to function in a matrix environment, working with resources located in different time zones.
  • High level of energy and flexibility to get things done and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed team-based environment.
  • Self-starter with ability to keep teams motivated and moving forward even in the face of uncertainty.

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires up to 10% travel

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds
