What's it all about?

Visa Real-Time Payments focuses on building and deploying innovative technologies to modernize payments around the world.  To affect this global transformation, we are looking for leaders who are passionate about innovating and delivering truly differentiated payment solutions for specific marketplaces.  Successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, payments and delivery knowledge, communication, and applied strategy in applying Visa’s new but rapidly expanding real-time payments offering.

The RTP Business Development Lead role will drive the strategy of Visa’s real-time payments team through ownership of critical work streams including M&A, partnerships, pricing, and commercialization. The role will work with the product and technical teams to define solution requirements for our RTP capabilities and will spearhead business efforts to build out these requirements through M&A or partnership. He/she will also lead the commercial work stream on in-market RFP responses as we work to build world-class real-time national payment infrastructures around the world. 

What we expect of you, day to day... 

The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

  • Formulate business cases for new value-added services and applications as we seek to deliver best-in-class national payments infrastructures globally
     
  • Communicate to Visa Execs and internal stakeholders our vision for various RTP initiatives, clearly articulating the strategic value and potential downsides of any new engagement
     
  • Lead RTP Partnership and M&A efforts, and engagements with RTP players around the globe
     
  • Lead customer pricing proposals for core infrastructure projects, often in coordination with various internal and external stakeholders
     
  • Lead Visa’s overall pricing strategy for RTP products in coordination with go-to-market efforts
     
  • Provide critical support to strategic decisions including pricing & commercial frameworks, launch strategies and timelines, and other go-to-market work streams
     
  • Participate in continuing efforts to improve and maintain a robust competitive intelligence fact base
     
  • Communicate RTP’s goals and business activities to relevant executives and prepare executive-level presentations and communications as needed

Qualifications

What we're after.

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
     
  • High level of experience with experience in the payments industry
     
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, consulting, M&A work, pricing, payments, and and/or go-to-market roles
     
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
     
  • Demonstrates strong thought leadership and comfort navigating complex business problems while working across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
     
  • Ability to thrive leading key initiatives and moving work streams forward in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often ambiguous working environment
     
  • Natural collaborator with ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams to drive deliverables, projects, and engagements to completion
     
  • Strategy expertise: Demonstrated thought leadership in monetisation strategy, pricing models, and go-to-market strategy. Deep value-based packaging and pricing expertise
     
  • Ability to understand customer needs/perceived value, drive customer value creation, and develop go-to-market strategies to accelerate growth
     
  • Proven track record of helping to drive teams to achieve and exceed established goals
