Job Description

Visa is seeking an experienced executive to lead the marketing strategy and activities for business lines for CyberSource, the global payments management platform within Visa.  The Vice President, Line of Business (LOB) Marketing role leads the relationship with each global LOB, tasked with collaborating closely to understand the business strategy and develop a marketing strategy and tactical program to help each business meet their objectives.  They are responsible for stewarding the marketing plan and budget, setting and measuring KPIs, and driving meaningful engagement with clients and prospects. This role requires expertise in both strategy and execution- demanding strong analytical rigor, white space thinking, communication, network building, people management and leadership skills. The successful candidate will influence decision makers across the global CyberSource organization to implement impactful new initiatives to drive business and channel growth. 

The VP, LOB Marketing will lead a team of marketing professionals across the globe and will be responsible for customizing strategies and plans to regional requirements, while maximizing the scalability of all activities.  They will have direct responsibility for brand awareness, demand generation and ABM functions, campaigns, events, sales content creation, strategic messaging and positioning.  This role will work across the product marketing, digital, brand and operations functions of the marketing organization to distill business line requirements and goals into team objectives.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspiring leader to transform the way that CyberSource communicates to customers and prospects during a period of transformative growth.

The VP will build effective, scalable strategies and a strong culture of excellence across our business line marketing activities. The best-suited candidate be a persuasive, inspiring and clear communicator with high emotional intelligence and will possess a strong accomplishment record of motivating teams. 

This position will be responsible for and/or have:

  • Leading a team of B2B marketers to develop strategies and programs that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for CyberSource 
  • Championing the voice of internal and external customers throughout the marketing organization.  Will be well-versed in the needs of our clients and have a deep understanding of their business challenges and growth goals
  • Listening to and managing stakeholders that have varied and sometimes conflicting goals and needs   
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Business ownership: Have an ownership mindset; consider P&L and marketing investment accountability for all LOB’s. Strategic planning with a 6-12 month horizon
  • People leadership experience: Ability to build and inspire a high-performing team. He/she should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and consistently deliver results

Qualifications

BASIC Qualifications:

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of marketing team leadership
  • 7+ years of payments industry experience
  • Proven & seasoned B2B Marketing expertise, with a deep knowledge and understanding of the payments and merchant acquiring space
  •  Inspiring, engaging people leader and communicator, able to set a vision and bring people with them
  • Ability to operate in a hyper-growth environment and understand both the complexity and challenges of navigating a Marketing function through transformation
  • Strategic mind-set, with exceptional clarity of thought combined with a hands on, detailed oriented approach when needed
  • Deeply customer centric and passionate about understanding the needs of our clients
  • Exceptional at driving prioritization across a complex portfolio of solutions
  • Experienced and credible in building valuable relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers
  • Highly skilled in metric based decision making

Work Hours 

  • Incumbent must make themselves available to speak with partners in various international time zones

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 30-40% of the time.

Physical Requirements 

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
