Job Description

 

Payments and payment technologies have become a very popular area in the last several years. Given the strong demands and innovation, this will be a very exciting area in the next 5 to 10 years. VISA is clearly a very strong leader in the payment industry, and is in a fast pace of technology transformation.  An important part of the growing company is the emphasis on Privacy and protecting consumer and employee’s data.  Additionally, with the advent of the various privacy legislative efforts, (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) Visa continues to be at the forefront of managing privacy.  As such, the Visa Privacy Program is a key component towards this goal.

The Data Platform (DP) department is overall technical program manager of Visa's Privacy program.  This position will provide analysis and technical support for the Privacy Program.  Specifically, the Privacy analyst position will help in these efforts by:

·       Gathering, analyzing, coordinating, information regarding the personal information (PI) within the Visa ecosystem

·       Provide reporting and analysis regarding the PI information

·       Coordinating application’s design and planning to address regulatory requirements

·       Provide support for the overall PI scanning effort, within the DP, and with other divisions.

·       Provide PI scanning analysis and results.

·       General support of the Privacy Program

 

The ideal candidate will have a very strong technical background in one or more of the following areas:

1.       Relational database concepts:  Modeling, tables, indexes, keys, etc

2.       Big Data stack concepts:  Hadoop, HBase, No SQL, Spark, Kafka databases

3.       Expert level in SQL across a variety of platforms

4.       Experience with a variety of operating systems (e.g., Unix, Linux, IBM Mainframe, Windows)

5.       PI Scanning and discovery

6.       Technical vendor interaction, management and support.

7.       Expert level with MS Office:  MS Access (required), Excel (required), PowerPoint, Word

Candidates should be passionate, self-driven and resourceful, creative problem solvers with can-do attitude.  Additionally, the candidate must be self-motivated as there will be minimal oversight on a day-to-day basis.  As such, the ability to self-track to deliverables is necessary.  The position will be based in Visa’s Palo Alto office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the main PI application attestation database
  • Create reporting from attestation database
  • Maintain the PI Playbook instruction data warehouse
  • Contact (via a variety of channels) the application technical contacts to negotiate delivery
  • Assure all incoming data is of high quality and consistency
  • Technical contact for PI Scanning to help evangelize across the enterprise.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree is required. Concentration in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
