Job Description

As the Senior Director, Open Data you will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute Visa’s strategy for the open data economy.  Identifying partnerships, scoping the build of products and services while working with global leaders, technology partners and in-market teams will bring this vision to life.

With Australia and New Zealand at the vanguard of industry, legislative and regulatory charters on the affirmative use of consumer’s data you will use the local environments to shape Visa’s approach locally and globally.

Important to the role is a customer oriented mindset when developing solutions while having a strong commercial understanding of a network business including the application of leading technologies.  Collaborating with internal and external partners and clients will lead to industry leading solutions that unlock the beneficial use cases for consumers and businesses.

Areas of Accountability

  • Understand market trends, emerging technologies and identify prospective partners
  • Define and lead multi-year roadmaps for infrastructure, analytics and security to support the Open Data Ecosystem
  • Influence and lead the collaborative efforts between internal and external stakeholders, develop Visa’s cross functional teams to be advocates and communicate the value of the Visa solutions
  • Maintain the quality of cross functional work being delivered by setting and evaluating clear expectations and deliverables
  • Regularly review the solutions through development stages with prospective clients to ensure the products and services meet expectations
  • Confidently deal with C suite executives to clearly communicate the Open Data vision
  • Provide guidance and expertise for product and client-facing teams; leading and coaching local teams on the impact and value of Open Data on our business as well as the business of our clients and prospective clients
  • Develop and present strategies, spotlights, and business cases of overall solution development, working in close partnership with Head of Global Open Banking and other local and global leaders
  • Develop and drive the key performance indicators for the portfolio that translates into building new solutions, new clients and new revenue streams
  • Be Visa’s industry voice on the establishment and development of the Open Data ecosystem

Qualifications

Minimum

  • BA/BS degree in related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in conjunction with a less technical BA/BS
  • Product management experience including product conception as well as launching, building, and growing multiple products with depth in digital identity, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, and Marketing
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment with global and regional teams
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders and clients
  • Experience in managing and developing a team while fostering a positive team culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced technical degree
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to evolve strategy based on research, data, and industry trends
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and influencing skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
  • Experience with Agile methodology to drive product development and delivery
