Job Description

Understanding that there is inherent business continuity risk when outsourcing services to third party providers, Visa’s Operational Resilience team has a position available to provide global oversight of the Vendor Resilience program in the role of Director.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Continuity,  the Director of Vendor Resilience will oversee the annual program implementation for the enterprise. The program encompasses the (1) Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) – Appendix J regulatory requirements for critical technology service providers, (2) represents the organization as a key stakeholder in the enterprise-wide Supplier Risk Management program, and (3) manages Visa’s role as a service provider to clients in facilitating client briefings. 

A successful candidate should seek to elevate the Vendor Resilience program by presenting the program as one of excellence to our external clients, strengthening internal cross-functional partnerships, and acting as  a key partner for formalization of program requirements with internal executive committees. In addition,the Director will support in managing third parties from a business resilience aspect, while coordinating onsite reviews and other due diligence exercises. 

Essential Functions

  • Maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partnering groups 
  • Maturation of program including strategy, policy, and procedures
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness and maturity of the Vendor Resilience program to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure that all planned activities align with Visa priorities, client objectives and regulatory guidance to strengthen recovery capabilities across Visa
  • Standardize and maintain central repository for contract language for use by Visa account managers and client questionnaire responses to ensure consistency in language; work with Legal to respond to and manage all government-level country OR inquiries (e.g. Russia, Ukraine, etc.)
  • Draft/Proofread all client and TSP written correspondence, such as periodic publications in the form of brochures or newsletters, presentations, and questionnaires and subsequent responses
  • Prepare Internal Audit and FFIEC deliverables related to the Vendor Resilience
  • Assist in the development of key metrics, reporting and presentations for management that provide business intelligence and program performance visibility 
  • Collaborate with Legal Counsel to monitor new and existing supplier and client contracts to ensure alignment of terms that can impact Visa’s business resilience (e.g. right to audit, SLAs, sub-contracting, testing, etc.) 
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Gain understanding of new international market (e.g. China, Europe) BC regulations, their associated regulatory bodies and related audit requirements; manage regulatory interactions and audits once integrated into the OR program
  • Participate in client and TSP testing to confirm completeness, effectiveness and accuracy; document accordingly and manage action items to closure

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience in business including significant experience in the arena of business continuity and vendor resilience.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10-12 or more  years of applied experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD).  
  • Preferred areas of study include Law, Business, Technology, Sourcing, and Organizational Resilience.
  • Proven experience in directly managing a team +2 resources for an enterprise
  • Applied experience in managing third party risk for a FFIEC regulated company
  • Experience in managing client contracts and client management
  • Proficiency in O365 Suite and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams)
  • Knowledge of business continuity and information security principles
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-organization projects and processes with multiple stakeholders 
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and excellent writing capabilities 
  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leadership and external parties
  • Passionate, self-motivated, results-driven accompanied by a strong work ethic
  • Possess a demonstrated sense of urgency with the ability to perform well under significant enterprise-wide pressure
  • Proficient knowledge level of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Projects 
  • Previous experience with CRM software

    Physical Requirements

    This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.

    Travel Requirements

    The incumbent may be required to travel 10-20% domestically and internationally.
