What we expect of you, day to day

The Threat Analyst will work as a member of the Global Cybersecurity organization in the Cyber Threat Intelligence & Research (CITR) team, which is focused on research, analysis and production of actionable intelligence to maximize cyber resilience.
The individual, with a broad cybersecurity systems knowledge and understanding will work closely with other security functions to provide guidance & coordination. Working as a member of the Global CITR team, reporting into the Global Head of CITR.

  • Liaise with Threat Intelligence partners to ensure relevant cyber threat intelligence is gathered, assessed, and acted upon.
  • Identify and maintain open source intelligence sources.
  • Drive tactical threat Intelligence activities, undertaking research to identify and understand the tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) used by relevant threat actors.
  • Identify potential gaps in security controls and identify cyber resilience optimisation opportunities in prevent and detect technologies.
  • Identify detection logic that can be implemented in monitoring technologies to detect suspicious and malicious activity.
  • Contribute to tactical testing (Purple Team) and threat hunting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams in virtual team projects to increase cyber resilience.
  • Provide intelligence and technical analysis support to the VSIRT team during Cybersecurity incidents and forensic investigations.
  • Undertake targeted data analysis to focus in on threats targeting Visa and the wider payment ecosystem.
  • Author threat intelligence briefings, situational reports and threat research papers for internal and external stakeholders.
     

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Intelligence, Communications (or related fields).
  • Extensive experience in the Information Security industry, with a concentrated focus on threat intelligence and risk analysis.
  • Demonstrable involvement with one or more groups within the threat intelligence community in Europe e.g.  FS-ISAC, CSIG, CiSP, FS-CCC etc.
  • Detailed understanding of the Mitre ATT&CK Framework / CAPEC, with the ability to execute techniques in a controlled environment. Offensive Security Certified Professional (OCSP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of the threat landscape, including attack vectors, TTPS used by different threat actor types, and associated mitigating defensive controls and techniques.
  • Experience of aligning incident response processes / plans with the threat landscape.
  • Experience of contributing to CBEST or STAR-FS testing initiatives from a threat intelligence perspective, undertaking reconnaissance for threat intelligence reports and creating attack trees for specific threat scenarios.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
  • Experience working in a global organisation with the need to deliver regional requirements.
