Job Description

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT).  Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payments to landscaper), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance and more.  Currently, the push payments market around the world is estimated to be an $80T opportunity. 

The Visa Direct Global Enabler Commercialization Manager will focus on accelerating growth for Visa Direct enablers (including treasury management banks, acquirers, processors, gateways, ISOs, and fintechs) across all five Regions around the world (North America, LAC, Asia/Pacific, CEMEA and EU).  This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a new ecosystem in the fast moving world of payments.  These kinds of opportunities don’t come along very often; prepare to work hard but have a lot of fun along the way!

The Global Enabler Commercialization Manager will participate in, and lead, multiple projects and workstreams to ensure progress toward our goal of accelerated sales and growth of Visa Direct.  By helping to build a Center of Excellence, the manager will be part of a team will be identifying and providing our sellers and resellers what they need to generate the hypergrowth of Visa Direct transactions forecasted.  We will be working in an agile environment, so the individual will participate in short-term and medium-term scrums as needed.  Must be willing to pivot and adjust as new information and lessons learned come to light.

This is a matrix, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical, as we interface with other specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant and acquiring sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, corporate strategy, interchange/pricing, and finance to coordinate the continued build, launch and support of Visa Direct.   

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Goal:  Drive commercialization of enablers for Visa Direct in each of Visa’s five regions by identifying and then developing what is needed first to sell to enablers and then second successfully sell through enablers to scale growth for Visa’s push payments business globally. 

  • Participate in building out a Center of Excellence that can support each region’s needs based on readiness, commitment, and progress throughout the enabler lifecycle of successfully selling Visa Direct as a disbursements option for multiple use cases (eg. – insurance, alternative lending, earned wage access, gaming, etc.).  Some of the workstreams to be developed are below though will continue to expand based on seller and reseller needs as they are identified.

  • Develop the value proposition to enablers, including client decks and models to help clients understand the business case and ROI.  As more use cases are developed that could be relevant to enablers, work with the sales and reseller teams on bringing these to market to stimulate more transactions.

  • Work with regional sales and product teams to develop training materials on the talk track, value proposition, overcoming objections, etc. We will work closely with sales training and enablement team on development of critical education resources and materials needed to make sales team (in & out of Visa) as effective as possible for Visa Direct. 

  • Collaborate on developing pipeline and lead management process, including engagement with Salesforce and GMS&A teams, and execute through structured engagement and detailed progress reports.

  • Participate in development of deal and incentive approach and drive execution with each region’s partners in finance and legal.  In addition, liaise with local CS and VD Product to ensure solid handoff to solutioning/implementation, and then track progress to ensure ultimate commercialization to live programs.

  • To generate demand and move markets, this team will lead, over time, the development, oversight, and success of a preferred partner program for resellers.  At first this team will listen and learn from the various regions, then will assess what is needed and work to build out an effective approach that will drive reseller success, given uniqueness of various country and regional needs, in offering Visa Direct as one of their products.

  • Ensure ongoing efforts to listen to market and make adjustments accordingly by regularly meeting with internal partners and strategically meeting with clients.  As problems are identified, it is critical that the Center of Excellence works to troubleshoot and solve to make the sales opportunities as frictionless as possible.  

  • Ability to work with all 5 regions meaning taking calls at inconvenient times in home time zones at times.  In addition, need travel documentation to be able travel internationally: targeting ~20%.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years’ experience in a product or strategy role
  • Experience within financial services, payments, and/or technology companies.
  • Flexible, positive and results-oriented attitude, works well with changing timelines and priorities and can proactively manage up. Works with a sense of urgency and makes efforts to motivate others towards common goals.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to develop clear, insightful PowerPoint presentations, internal briefs and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize complex information, make sound tactical decisions, and communicate such information in a clear, simple way to a variety of audiences, ranging from senior executives to working-level technical specialists.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate strategies rooted in deep knowledge of product, consumer, and market factors, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Self-starter who identifies areas of opportunity and drives forward efficiencies, processes, global strategies and goals forward with cross-functional stakeholders and clients. Comfort leading and working closely with cross-functional teams required
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required, experience with Microsoft SharePoint and sales operations tools (Salesforce or other) preferred.
