Job Description

We are looking for a Principal level UX Designer.

This is an opportunity to create experiences that will be leveraged on a scale that few others experience. Visa is changing how people are using and interfacing with payments. We’re looking for a Principal level user experience designer to help us shape the future of our platform. You’ll be leveraging your strong UX skills that include interaction, visual design and even physical design as you create holistic experiences that test our current comfort level but are grounded in real business and customer problems. And just to be clear, we really mean the entire user experience from start to finish. This is not just a user interface design role.

We make it up and make it happen

This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset. The Innovation group you will be in is responsible for new product design for North America. We work quickly to find great new ideas, gather like-minded people from across the company to dream big, create an inspiring vision, work fast, test, learn from things that don’t work, pivot to the next right thing to do and shepherd successful concepts to market success. The work is both digital and physical. Our charter is wide open. We design traditional solutions but are also responsible for delivering products for IoT, AR, ML, AI… we focus on the best way to solve any problem.

Our team is small and scrappy. There are less than a dozen of us. You’ll be working as an individual contributor to start with access to others on the team to help you make things happen.

Our ideal candidate will work closely and collaborate with the Product team, Development, and QA to create and build the ideal experience our customers need. You’ll have a record of getting people to fall in love with new ideas based on your clear and compelling vision and having them become your evangelists. Conducting research, with the help of our wonderful Research group is a big part of this. You’ll be creating and leading the prototyping and working with the developers to get them what they need to make it real.

Whatever you work on, it’s yours. You’ll be working under minimal supervision from a very experienced Senior UX Director but it’s up to you to set the milestones and deliver on time. We are a tight team, so you won’t be doing this all alone but you will with great freedom comes the responsibility.
