What’s it all about?

To be fit for the future, visionary payments ecosystem players will reimagine themselves by injecting or attacking established models with new ideas fuelled by technology. As a digital subject matter expert, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities and developing and delivering consulting services (solutions) that help clients grow their digital footprint. The Senior Director (Go-to-Market, Strategy & Business Operations) VCA, Europe will report to VCA Executive Director, Europe and work towards the team’s goals and assist in the delivery of, analysis, insight and practical recommendations to our traditional and new clients.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

The Visa Consulting & Analytics team is responsible for driving the business performance of our clients’ portfolios by helping them grow, innovate and differentiate in their markets, ultimately focusing on our joint customer value proposition with them, providing insight, advisory and Digital innovation capabilities. The Senior Director (Go-to-Market, Strategy & Business Operations) VCA, Europe also supports our VCA Europe goals more broadly across the region. The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Help define and drive VCA Europe Growth Strategy and Operations through leading strategic planning and operational excellence initiatives, in conjunction with VCA Europe leadership

  • Champion the development of thought leadership across a range of relevant emerging business, technology and product topics as relevant for the Visa ecosystem

  • Contribute to qualitative and quantitative market research to validate trends and competitive opportunities for specific new market offerings and assets for VCA Europe at Visa

  • Foster an environment of innovation and customer centricity, institutionalising agile innovation practices and a customer insight to action culture

  • Embody a mindset of ‘permanent curiosity’ and build cross-functional understanding across Visa 

  • Act as the single POC on Strategic Initiatives for VCA Europe, as well as Business Operations both towards VCA Global Leadership, as well as towards the rest of the business and functions in Europe, and act as the day-to-day link between VCA Europe Operations and our Sales & Client Engagement team as well as CEO Office in terms of Business Performance and relevant intersecting initiatives

  • Act as VCA Europe’s ‘Commercial and Strategy Officer’ in support of VCA Europe Leadership

  • Own the process for strategic and operational reporting on KPIs and Scorecard for VCA Europe across the region, as well as into regional and global leadership for VCA

  • Work with the Regional Managing Directors of the business in the different clusters, as well as with local VCA Europe Managing Consultants on shaping individual market-relevant strategies as well as help drive and tailor VCA Europe’s Offerings to market needs

  • Help establish and drive a systematic, standardised Go-to-Market approach for VCA Europe working in conjunction with our Sales and Client Engagement organisation as well as the regional Managing Consultants

  • Help drive the creation of assets and industrialisation of solutions and market offerings that support Visa’s Growth Strategy

  • Help support strategic client pitches and shape VCA Europe commercial offers for key clients

  • Engage directly with key clients on a regular basis e.g., issuers, acquirers, fintechs and merchants to help refine VCA Europe’s market offerings and solutions as well as to inject specific capability on selected joint strategic initiatives in some of our markets in the region

  • Help evolve our Digital Strategy and Open Banking offerings in partnership with the relevant Practice Leads

  • Stay connected and informed on Visa Product and Capabilities Roadmap to ensure alignment at a regional level, in line with broader VCA Europe strategy

  • Act as the VCA Europe Strategy & Go-to Market Lead in discussions with other VCA Regions, and external vendors, fintechs, partners and stakeholders

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Extensive experience in client-facing consulting role(s), coupled with a track-record of delivering outcomes for high growth businesses

  • High level of experience in and in-depth knowledge of the Financial Services industry (Banking and Payments a plus) and its Digital Transformation journey

  • A proven track record of delivering high impact results in the areas of asset development, growth strategy, portfolio management, business development and the impact of digital on business models

  • A quick learner with outstanding analytical skills and able to move seamlessly from high level concepts to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a track record of working effectively and leading teams

  • Proven experience in the entire ‘sales-through-to-delivery’ consulting project lifecycle, including relevant Business Development practices

  • Experienced and fluent in Digital business models and their underlying technology and data enablers

  • Proactive and effective communicator. Experienced at presenting information to all levels, with ability to facilitate group discussions and debate and proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across geographic and functional lines

  • Excellent client relationship management skills (senior executive level and across all levels of an organisation)

  • Past work experience within consulting firm, bank or fintech, managing agile cross-functional teams, and/or integration based projects preferred

  • Global or multi-national business experience

  • Ability to travel (50% of time)
