Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Develop SSIS projects / packages to import data sets using ETL capabilities including, transmission, encryption, and archiving of data sets received and generated
  • Design, develop, and maintain database tables, stored procedures, and supporting objects
  • Develop Views with Business Logic as part of new data import sets into the CMDB
  • As part of Releases and Updates,  document and perform necessary System / Unit test to ensure the ETL code delivered is running and conforms to specifications and design guidelines
  • Develop test plans to ensure functionality has been implemented correctly
  • Document deployment procedures
  • Develop documentation to support the ongoing support and maintenance of any solutions developed
  • Support Management & Business Analyst’s, as well as other members of the team in gathering and/or clarifying data and requirements from subject matter experts
  • Build and maintain relationships with users to ensure adoption and buy-in of ETL solutions
  • Manage platform and currency of system and database related patches, along with necessary drivers for integrations and data imports, in accordance with VISA policy and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues with nightly job processing and data import
  • Identify corrective actions and long term fixes to address chronic / recurring issues.
  • Develop SQL queries and support ad hoc requests for data
  • Monitor the status of packages on a daily basis to ensure no operational issues and data is staged accordingly for import
  • Develop new Reports and Dashboard capabilities related to Operational Health of SSIS packages, jobs, and job latency or timing issues.
  • Maintain operational documentation to support the environment
  • Ability to work independently with users and stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5-7  years’ experience operating, managing and developing ETL packages / projects in a large enterprise environment supporting large datastores.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SSIS version 2012 or later
  • 5+ years’ experience writing complex stored T-SQL, procedures, functions, and SQL queries
  • Working experience integrating systems using various methods including direct SQL queries, Powershell or other Scripting logic, Rest API’s, and / or .CSV’s.  
  • Experience loading and extracting XML and or JSON data to/from databases
  • Experience developing reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2012 or later
  • Working knowledge / experience with system / platform administration to manage patching, drivers, etc.
  • Experience implementing data warehouses
  • Hands on experience in Java/JavaScript and open source tools in a Windows Platform, MySQL and agile development environment.
  • Experience with database design schemas and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, CSS, XHTML and XML
  • Previous experience of working in a Agile development methodology / environment.
  • Experience working with code repositories including TFS to manage packages & code libraries for releases and updates

Preferred Qualifications

  • SSIS development with large scale database experience (millions of rows per day), both developing new packages  and modifying/refactoring existing packages.
  • SQL Server DBA experience with complex queries, views and stored proc design and development.
  • SQL Server 2016 or newer with experience developing REST integrations to external sources utilizing the SSIS packages
  • Some C# development to do basic source file validation and exception handling
  • ServiceNow Data Source / Transform Map development experience.

This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

 Travel Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

 This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
