Required years of Experience:

Senior Performance Test Engineer: 3+ years of Application Performance Engineering/Tuning with hands-on development/automation exposure.

Position Description: 

As SDET -- Performance Engineering, you will develop and execute tests, and analyze software performance. You will work with the global team and across products to ensure all the aspects of Performance are considered, measured and tuned.

A track record of developing/tuning software, and passion for designing and engineering Performance tests for enterprise software applications over multiple releases is required.

Excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a passion for learning new technology and creating high quality, scalable, reliable, available and performant software.

Responsibilities:

• Understand complex application architecture, pinpoint problem areas and highlight areas of performance improvement.
• Work with multiple product teams to design, create, execute and analyze performance tests
• Troubleshoot performance issues, identify and recommend performance tuning opportunities.
• Partner with technical teams to support remediating bottlenecks.
• Create automated performance acceptance tests as part of the SDLC.
•  Stay abreast of development/performance/QA industry best practices, methodologies and standards.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related engineering discipline.

• A strong background with atleast 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, testing, tuning performance of large scale systems, including web services.

• Experience with monitoring, profiling, and diagnostic tools.

• Hands-on experience in atleast one programming/scripting language (Java, .Net, Perl, Python, shell script)

• Experience with any of JMeter, Performance Center/Load Runner, VSTS

• Ability to design and develop re-usable, readable, and automated performance test scripts

• Experience tuning web services, and/or databases (RDBMS Performance such as Oracle, MySQL) is a plus

• Experience writing complex SQL statements in order to conduct replication tests is a plus

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment

• Ability to work seamlessly as part of a multi-site, multi-cultural engineering team
