Job Description

Visa’s Finance team is going through an exciting period of new growth as we expand our level of influence from financial reporting and planning to more strategic decision support.

Participants will gain a wealth of hands-on experience through the opportunity to work in 4 different areas of the finance organization for 6 months each across a two-year period.  The goal of this program is to develop future Finance leaders with cross-functional knowledge and experience.

You will gain exposure across multiple areas of Finance through core rotations in Financial Planning & Analysis and Controllership, as well as opportunities to explore other finance disciplines including Client Incentives, Sourcing, and Treasury. Each rotation will include activities integral to the department, as well as an opportunity to lead or drive a project or workstream.  During the final rotation, participants will lead a capstone project utilizing experience from multiple rotations to drive measurable results in support of organizational priorities.  In addition to the rotational experience, you will receive training & development, mentoring, networking and leadership exposure opportunities.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Provide insights about financial performance and opportunities to improve results.  Develop analysis and business cases to enable fact-based decision making.  Partner closely with the business to develop budgets and forecasts that support Visa’s business goals and objectives.
 

Controllership

Understand, record and reconcile accounting transactions, analyze financial statements, participate in the external financial reporting process including compliance with internal controls.

Client Incentives

Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities with current and new clients that achieve strategic and financial goals while meeting business and global process and governance requirements.

Sourcing

Support Visa through the cost-effective procurement of goods and services, while minimizing contractual risk.

Treasury

Help manage corporate cash and investment portfolios, foreign exchange exposure and rate setting, capital and debt strategy, liquidity management, settlement and insurance programs worldwide across most of the Visa entities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
  • MBA from leading business school with an anticipated graduation date in Jan - Jun 2020 or within 1 year post graduation (2019 grad)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant financial analysis work experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy are extremely critical
  • Strong ability to work with large amounts of data and organize in a logical and efficient manner
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Access and Hyperion, and strong skills in Powerpoint
  • Accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and produce time sensitive deliverables
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities

Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
