Job Description

Visa is seeking a dynamic and engaging Director to lead and enhance the financial operations of our LAC Shared Service Center.  The candidate will be responsible for providing direction to the team processing financial transactions within the SSC.  The role will oversee the SSC activities in the areas of accounts payable processing, payroll accounting and supplier maintenance for various entities across Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership to the SSC team in all matters of accounts payable to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of supplier payments.
  • Promote process optimization, standardization and improvement initiatives for invoice processing, invoice resolution and cash payments.
  • Ensure service performance meets business expectations and promote corrective and preventative action for any deviations.
  • Foster and manage effective partnerships with business stakeholders to establish a collaborative team approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and customer responsiveness
  • Support talent development through continuous improvement initiatives, performance assessment, coaching and evaluation
  • Driving resolution of root cause in supplier invoice exception
  • Manage the payroll accounting process including review and support reconciliation.
  • Oversee reconciliation of accounts payable balances, month end close and vendor statements.
  • Management reporting including weekly and monthly metrics.
  • Audit support specific to accounts payable.
  • Monitors and reports on-time vendor report payment processing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of accounts payable payments processing, including exposure to Foreign Currency payments
  • Experience in multi-national company
  • Five (5) years of experience in team management and supervisory roles.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish), Portuguese (a plus)
  • Familiarity with LAC payment standards and payment types
  • Experience using a financial ERP, e.g. Oracle, with a focus on Accounts Payable and Payments modules
  • Experience using various cash management banking portals and Treasury workstations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure in a complex and diverse, international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Results oriented and ability to deliver results under stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated high level of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to interpret and implement accounting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Independent and self-motivated - ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to support team environment
