Job Description

This role is a recognized expert within the Global Sponsorship Marketing (GSM) team responsible for providing deep property expertise and management capabilities across some of Visa’s most valuable investments. This role will have two primary functions:  


1)    Client Partner Integration and Program Management: Integrate a strategic, creative, and flexible outcome driven sell in standard across our global sponsorship investments.  Support expansion of sponsorship activation across Visa business units and client/partner growth areas (e.g. fintechs).
2)    Property Management: Serve as the property lead for the USSF property, overseeing the day to day delivery of the USSF property as well as support Visa’s macro ‘football’ strategy laddering under our global FIFA structure. Additional property management support may be required from time to time across our NFL, US properties, as well our non-sport verticals throughout the world however these needs will be secondary to USSF and FIFA property management needs. 
 

Qualifications

    Basic

    •    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 10 years of applicable marketing experieince with heavy focus on sponsorship marketing.   Or 8 years of work experieince with an advanced degree (Master's, MBA, JD).

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of  progressively responsible business experience, with majority in operations/project management roles in the marketing sponsorship arena.
    • Professionally qualified or equivalent with experience of global event experience and finance/administration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, and leads by influence and example.
    • Exceptional project management skills and is able to drive consensus in cross regional and cross functional teams.
    • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of marketing business problems
    • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
    • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
    • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with Global Functions and Regions
    • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including 
    • Experience managing external vendors and agency partners with excellent relationship skills.
    • A demonstrated ability to integrate information from a wide variety of sources to arrive at optimal problem solutions and offer innovative alternatives and options towards resolution.
    • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to all corporate levels with impact.
    • A demonstrated understanding of finance to support GSM department and an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making.  
    • Proficient on all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
    • An understanding of Visa products and services preferred.
       

    Additional Information

    Essential Functions

    1) Client Sell-In and Integration:

    • Responsible for supporting the overall strategy to maximize client and partner activation of Visa’s Global Sponsorships, including (but not limited to) Olympics, FIFA, and NFL. 
    • The position will deliver sell-in materials, activation plans, timelines and assets for every Visa Global property; identify and develop additional client partner opportunities across all Visa sponsorships for key partners (global and regional partnerships); partner with agencies and creative resources to develop key client concepts.
    • Create unique, differentiated Sponsorship opportunities to support RFPs and renewals and lead special projects tied to merchant partner activation as assigned by Sr. Leadership/Management.  
    •  Success will be defined by increased levels of client partner activation and investment, and growth in strategic engagements as defined by specific KPIs for each Global Sponsorship. 
    • Key stakeholders for delivering this are the regional Sponsorship leads, regional and market-level client & merchant marketing teams, GSM Sponsorship & Hospitality teams, sales, marketing & product organizations across the globe, regional hub and market based teams when applicable (e.g. Host Country for Olympic Games).

    2) USSF and Football Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day management of the USSF property consisting of:
    • Property management, sponsorship and activation counsel and implementation, including client, consumer and experiential marketing initiatives 
    • Manage soccer talent recommendation process for marketing integration and manage athlete/talent procurement process as well as contract negotiation and management working with the Team Visa lead for each region/market
    • Actively lead the strategy, creation, development and implementation of USSF sponsorship programs, including working with functional areas such as external communications, internal communications, advertising, and social/digital teams
    •  Oversee program development & the approvals process of USSF-themed programs internally and with the property
    •  Manage USSF activation and budget trackers and manage budget with finance teams 
    • Support the Global Football Lead in providing support of the FIFA property and the strategic implementation of Visa’s role in football worldwide. 
    •  Facilitate sharing of best practices across global and local sponsorship teams, functional partners and agencies.

    3) Other 

    • Manage process of opening USSF Sponsorship POs, adding new vendors and working within Ariba and finance as appropriate
    • Support management of the overall client activation budget: reporting of monthly actual vs. forecast, and all re-forecasting exercises.
    • Contribute to a robust library of client partner activation best practices and case studies from around the Globe.  Socialize availability of these resources to key stakeholders in all regions. 
    •  Lead or Support special projects as assigned or identified (client partner pass-thru rights valuation, B2B sponsorship story development to support client partner onboarding, etc.)
       

    Physical Requirements:    This position will be performed in an office setting.    The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

    Travel Requirements:   The incumbent may be required to travel 20-25%.
