Job Description

We are looking for a Director of Development to own a key product portfolio at Issuer Processing – Client & Administrative Systems organization. Within this role you will lead a team of smart and talented engineers and architects to translate the function’s business vision into a technical reality. Working at the core of one of our strategic functions you will thrive in challenging your rich skill set; you will be a visionary leader, a technical partner, a product advocate, an agile delivery enthusiast, a people enabler and an executor.

Essential Functions:

  • Be responsible for and the custodian of the long-term technical strategy for Cardholder services Key Product Portfolio

  • Collaborate with product management to continuously evolve the product portfolio and deliver value add to the business

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical solutions and approaches to product development

  • Delight the customer through the delivery of applications with the highest levels of performance, reliability and usability

  • Proactively drive team and project performance; identifying and championing Best Practice Software Development processes

  • Promote team engagement as well as the ongoing mentoring and professional development of highly skilled technical professionals

  • Contribute, influence and deliver on Client & Administrative Systems wider organizational strategy and goals (both at a local and global level)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer minimum of 10+ years of experience in financial and banking industry business, optimally with experience in payment processing, billing and collection applications

  • Proven high-impact player with an impressive track record of execution and driving change in a collaborative and thoughtful manner

  • Significant experience managing large-scale, geographically distributed technology organizations in a highly matrixed environment

  • Known for building and fostering strong relationships with business partners

  • Experience in leveraging onshore/offshore delivery centers as well as proven delivery experience with remote development teams required.  Experience in defining clear roles and responsibilities within onshore retained teams and demonstrated leadership in delivering complex technology initiatives within this structure is critical.

  • Proven delivery leadership in a complex organization including systems rationalization and consolidation experience to optimize performance and drive down systems costs.

  • Proven ability in delivering large scale global projects; on time and within budget.

  • Strong experience in CRM software implementation/integration, specifically, with Salesforce.com and other related components

  • General business skills including budget administration, planning, negotiation skills, and project management

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
