Job Description

What's it all about?

Part of the global Product org, Visa’s Innovation & Design team is a global client facing organisation that sets Visa’s public innovation narrative, supports our clients to accelerate their innovation agenda and transform their consumer digital experiences, and promotes hands on incubation and rapid prototyping to demonstrate the art of the possible for clients and partners. Innovation & Design runs Innovation Centers in various regional offices. This role focuses on Visa’s European region, based out of our London Innovation Center.

Our dynamic and start-up-like team of designers, developers, facilitators and creative strategists is looking for a talented individual to help bring new solutions to life, from imagination to commercialisation. This includes working together with some of Visa’s largest clients and strategic partners across Europe to solve consumer pain points and deliver compelling consumer payments experiences of the future. 

The main focus of this role would be to deliver client engagement sessions based on design thinking methodologies for some of Visa’s largest clients and strategic partners across Europe.


What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Client Engagements & Strategy

    • Support and co-lead strategic client engagements using design thinking methodologies, to help banks, merchants, fintechs, technology companies and other partners in Visa’s eco system discuss, prioritise and deliver future payment experiences

    • Help scope discovery phases, create key workshop deliverables such as insights presentations, stimuli/creative boards, concept summaries, workshop agendas and activities

    • Help build experiential assets in the Innovation Center, e.g. data narratives microservices showcases, demo stations, to showcase our innovation capabilities

    • Develop a strong understanding of Visa’s payment services and capabilities, and technical foundations

    • Over time and with support, develop the ability to lead smaller engagements end-to-end individually

  • Solution Design Delivery

    • Work in small multi-disciplinary teams including product, design, technology and strategy to deliver impactful solutions to complex consumer and business problems for clients and partners 

    • Deliver agile design delivery sprints that involve customer needs/pain points discovery, design, services design and solution development

    • Support on determine success criteria and KPI’s - track and monitor progress

  • Research & Insight

    • Partner with the design team to conceptualize and define research methodologies that solve complex challenges and uncover customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations

    • Prepare for and participate in research, shape hypotheses and write interview scripts, carry out consumer and stakeholder interviews, carry out desktop research

    • Synthesize research, shape and create design workshop input and artefacts, such as trends landscape, consumer profiles/personas, competitive analysis and benchmarks, concept summaries, insight decks, video vox pops etc.

    • Carry out research in partnership with research agencies/partners as required

    • Actively monitor developments in payments and current and future trends that impact the payment industry


What we’re after...

  • Experience of working across all product development lifecycles from research to concept exploration, to prototyping and validation and launch
  • Growth mindset, with openness to new ideas and viewpoints, the ability to flex according to changing directions when considering new information

  • A flair for business, ability to translate human insights into commercial outcomes

  • Team oriented - actively promotes an environment of inclusion and diversity of thought

  • A keen balance between creativity, intellectual curiosity and commercial understanding

  • Advanced technical skills within MS Office, PowerPoint, Keynote, Sketch and similar design applications

  • Design team background or Innovation consulting preferred

  • Bachelor of Design, Business, Commerce, or Technology, or hold equivalent professional experience

  • Commercial experience 

  • Demonstrated sprints team experience that involve needs discovery (ethnographic research), design and solution development

  • Experience working in client facing and client workshop facilitation, project-driven environments and teams

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic startup-like team environment with a diverse team
