Job Description

This position will have a leadership role in Global Client Licensing, a client-facing professional services team. We provide operational support to clients, entailing specialized knowledge regarding Visa licenses, agreements, and rules. Our clients include financial institutions, third party processors, non-traditional clients, and state-owned entities. The Director will be responsible for the implementation of complex programs, projects and other sensitive activities. This role also requires interaction with a variety of departments as a subject matter expert on a broad range of subjects with unique requirements (e.g., tools, best practices).

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for Licensing with tools oversight group to ensure system and tool development and enhancement aligns with Licensing priorities. Responsible for requirement gathering with internal stakeholders, communicating the team’s needs and keeping the projects on track, and disseminating information regarding updates, testing, etc. back to Licensing. Requires extensive technical, consultative and program management skills.

  • Lead process for global Non-Financial Institution (“Non-FI”) licensing applicants, and coordinate and align Non-FI rules, procedures and processes globally. Maintain program-related documentation.

  • Provide consultative support to Non-FI applicants and internal stakeholders, driving initial scoping meetings as well as process overviews, progress reports, etc.

  • Monitor ongoing integrity of Visa data. Provide business assessments of BINs and other transactional numerics to internal and external clients.

  • Consult and participate as necessary in operational and reporting activities necessary to support new product or service set up and implementation.

  • Maintain the Risk Control Self-Assessment documents and procedures.

  • Develop and manage action plans in the event of any audit findings (internal, SOX, and other regulatory), Visa policies and procedures.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.

  • Identify operational and strategic opportunities to increase service quality, efficiency or employee satisfaction and implements improvements accordingly; works with Licensing leadership teams to effect change.

  • Establish, foster, and build collaborative rapport with internal stakeholders throughout the organization and at all levels of seniority.

  • Support client-facing teams in successful and timely execution of client and corporate initiatives. Synthesize solutions and identify potential impacts to clients, Visa, and the ecosystem.

  • Provide consultative support to help clients and internal partners understand licensing requirements, based on comprehensive understanding of Visa global bylaws, rules, policies and procedures.

  • Mentor operations analysts, helping them build their knowledge and skills to support licensing operations.

  • Drive problem and communication management for any critical issues affecting client licensing.

  • Proactively drive team collaboration.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

  • Strong understanding and working expertise in Visa databases and workflow tools including VCIS, VCSA, Dynamics, CORE/CONFIG

  • Experience working cross-culturally and in remote situations

  • Relates well to all kinds of people with various cultural, geographic and business backgrounds as well as skill levels

  • Effective professional level English verbal and written communication skills

  • Requires basic travel commitment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Visa operations, Licensing and Numerics would be added advantage

  • Functional knowledge of VisaNet services and detailed knowledge of Visa policies and procedures are preferred

Additional Information

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements:  This position requires the incumbent to travel for work up to 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requiremements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
