Job Description

This role in the Visa Direct organization supports the creation of new mobile and digital payment solutions and in-market implementation in India. Responsibilities include developing and commercializing of new digital products and solutions. These new solutions have to be deployed keeping in mind the evolving market, client and consumer needs with the objective of driving significant future market growth for Visa in India. The role holder must possess a good blend of implementation skills as well have an intimate understanding of payments, mobile technology and consumer behavior. The role will work cross functionally with regional and global teams in delivering on the objectives.

The role requires developing the knowledge base on these relatively new solutions and developing industry best practices that can leveraged by local teams in many markets globally. Rollout of solutions typically has extremely tight deadlines and executive accountability associated with it. This requires that details, timelines, and project inter-dependencies are managed closely. Role holder will lead product interrelated project tasks and associated deadlines to ensure that they are met. These solutions require rapid implementation while retaining flexibility for modification based on market insights and learning.

The role will be responsible for tracking transaction and revenue targets for Visa Direct in this market. This will require proactive management of partners and client integration roadmaps, which in turn, would need balancing both technical and commercial objectives – while “commercializing” these new solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience with at least 5 years in product management within financial services
  • Business degree and Technical education and background is advantageous
  • Experience in go-to-market and product management; skills in program management are desired
  • Understanding of Payments, Banking and Financial services, its platforms and commercial models.
  • Direct experience working on new technology payment solutions - such as digital wallets, P2P, mobile banking ecosystems; familiarity with QR, NFC and UPI payments
  • Knowledge of payment and mobile technology and its impact on emerging business models.
  • Strong knowledge of push-payment eco-systems in the Asia Pacific region  
  • Ability to work in unstructured and informal settings with sophisticated clients and/or partners.
