Job Description

The VP of Product Marketing is responsible for leading Visa’s global product marketing team, strategy and approach to drive brand and business results. This is a new role at Visa and is integral to addressing the shift to digital in the changing payments landscape. You will be the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics needed to drive success in sales and marketing, ultimately delivering data-driven business results. You must be an evangelist of Visa’s products and solutions to our customers and you and your team will play an integral role in the lifecycle of Visa’s product and solutions portfolio. This role requires a player-coach mentality, with an ability to coach, develop and lead your team; but with a mastery of subject matter that allows you to dive into the details in order to drive the best outcomes.

You and your team are expected to know our competitors like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our buyers better than they know themselves, including how they make their buying decisions. This isn’t guesswork. You coach your team to consistently back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful. You have an innate ability to grasp and present the value propositions of our products and solutions in a way that resonates with customers and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems.

You will collaborate across our global and regional marketing and communications teams with a market centric approach to develop and deliver innovative programs and content that drive demand. Attention to detail and eye for quality are critical to your success, and are imperative in your ability to represent the brand in everything from product development and design to outbound communications. You are obsessed with tracking performance, and always have the data to prove what’s working and what isn’t. You and your team are an extension of Visa’s Product Organization, regularly collaborating and often integrated with product managers, product strategists, engineers and sales; it is a balancing act that requires strong relationship-building and diplomatic skills, including knowing when to listen, when to push back, when to dive in.
