Job Description

Visa is looking for a talented Sr. UX designer to join Visa’s hybrid cloud platform product design group. Join a small, high performing team that conceives and designs new concepts, and plays a pivotal role in collaborations with Visa technology users, working with emerging technologies such as containers, CI/CD, LBaaS, PaaS, IaaS.
 
You'll apply design thinking and user-centered design principles while you work closely with stakeholders to conceive and design beautiful, compelling and effective products. You'll be involved in the early stages of research and ideation and will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams through the iteration and development process. You are an accomplished designer who is fluent with digital experiences across platforms but also confident storyboarding consumer journeys with a pencil and paper.

Essential Functions:

  • Design world-class User Experience solutions that support the needs of Visa employees, with a focus on enabling internal employees, product users to be as productive and successful as possible.

  • Design mobile, desktop and device specific experiences that are delightful and engaging. 
  • Produce storyboards, mockups and digital designs. 
  • Apply Design Thinking methods such as prototype testing and in-depth interviews. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in co-creation workshops. 
  • Create working prototypes for demonstration purposes. 
  • Present design concepts to Senior Leadership and external partners. 
  • Gather and incorporate requirements and feedback from multiple stakeholders. 
  • Understand and advocate for the consumer's experience.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, and MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
  • UR Only:  MBA/ PhD degree without experience.
  • Candidate must communicate ideas and design decisions effectively. 
  • Strong mobile, responsive and product design skills. 
  • Experience working hands-on with developers and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Possess a strong design point-of-view and proven ability to communicate it. 
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. 
  • Rapid prototyping experience using Axure, html or similar. 
  • 5 yrs experience, preferably working with start-ups and established companies.
  • 2-3 yrs experience, preferably working with SaaS or Cloud providers companies.  
  • Experience launching world-class UX solutions for the web and mobile.
  • Expert knowledge of visual, UI and interaction design principles with an eye for details and consistency.
  • Experience researching & validating user needs and context, including through interviews with users.
  • Ability to develop a high-level concept into user flows and interfaces that meet business and user needs.
  • Experience using and creating/contributing to design systems & style guides.
  • Experience using Sketch & InVision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
  •  Experience designing tools for use in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience designing for complex business and functional requirements.
  • Knowledgeable about accessibility guidelines and best practices.
  • Experience and understanding of Product Management and the agile process.
  •  Be able to stand by your designs and provide solid rationale to back up your decision.
  • Cross-functional team leadership experience required with demonstrated results.
  • A strong practical point of view of User Experience.
  • Strong experience in working on UX aspects ranging from UX Research, UX flows to Usability tests.
  • Experience with UX research techniques a plus.
  • Experience working on UX for Technology products is a plus.
  • Experience working on wireframing tools is a plus.
  • Fully fluent in English and able to understand and be easily understood in spoken and written English. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time

Work Hours

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5% of the time

Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
