Job Description

The Learning Enablement organization is part of Visa University. Under the leadership of our Chief Learning Officer, we are an integral part of Visa’s Strategy organization, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources.

We are a team of experts in our respective disciplines, but, more importantly, we strive to harness our collective expertise in the most effective way for the benefit of learners. We combine rigor, data and subject matter expertise with intuition and common sense for what will be most effective for the business. We like to prototype, launch and evaluate. Essential Functions: 

With the guidance of the Vice President, Learning Enablement, the owners of the learning products and regional delivery leads support you will:

Lead the communications strategy for Visa University’s programs and initiatives where the aim is to provide a consistently engaging cadence of touch-points that draw customers to our products:

  • Translate key Visa University initiatives into innovative marketing and communications programs
  • Balance forward thinking, high-quality user experiences with operational efficiency and affordable delivery costs
  • Lead the marketing and communications teams accountable for work occurring within the project team
  • Be a strategic business partner to leadership by transforming strategic goals and priorities into a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy
  • Execute that strategy to create a memorable experience for users 

Innovate and Grow the Visa University marketing and communications portfolio: 
You will have an opportunity to evolve the existing marketing and communications program portfolio and launch new ones. You will leverage your strategic and critical thinking to articulate how the portfolio of solutions you own can evolve into the future. By leveraging your own knowledge of marketing and communications solutions and your vast network, you are able to articulate progressively evolving strategies that ensure customer engagement is supported for years to come. Sometimes innovation means completely new ways of thinking and sometimes it means simply delightful tweaks to existing solutions. You operate on both ends of that spectrum and find joy in doing it.

Act as a strategic business partner to Visa University leadership: 
You will skillfully cultivate and grow key internal and external relationships. You will form and engage in productive partnerships with critical internal stakeholders–product owners, trainers, their teams, learning experience designers and regional market heads–to evangelize the work we do, ensure a common understanding of the marketing and communications experience and scale it effectively across the organization. You will be versatile in the work you do in the context of these internal and external relationships—from ensuring buy-in with a senior internal stakeholder to influencing local marketing and communications processes and everything in between.

  • You partner well with regional delivery teams to improve learning engagement in our products through communications, campaigns or other meaningful media that represent the both the style and cadence of Visa University and the local needs symbiotically

  • You collaborate with key stakeholders for a win-win outcome, working in concert with product and delivery leads to understand key business drivers while creating engagement experiences that elevate business value

  • You excel at leading distributed teams with varied skill sets in a harmonious blend. You are confident in leading a team of communications, user research, graphic design and copy editing experts while creating one voice for Visa University across communications channels

  • You are adept at conveying the Visa University value proposition by developing and delivering engaging and persuasive marketing content through a variety of channels, including but not limited to: email, web pages, courses, research reports, sales materials, newsletters, video scripts, case studies, blogs, other social media content and executive presentations

  • You are resilient and flexible--defining, prioritizing, planning and executing communications strategies amidst changing needs is seen as a new opportunity and not a setback. Doing this while ensuring timely releases and best-in-class engagement is how you operate

  • You have a global mindset. You are curious and broad in your desire to understand our customers. Driving learner awareness and excitement through in-depth knowledge and experience of our customers in their needs and local landscape is a must

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Minimum 12 years of experience as a leader in communications, training management or equivalent. Financial services or payments experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Program/Project management experience in marketing and inside sales environment involving numerous stakeholders a plus
  • Strong computer and technical skills: Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, and HTML editor tools. Knowledge of CRM, marketing automation tools, and social media applications a plus
  • Self-starter with proven track record in leading, setting and successfully executing training and/or communications strategy and initiatives
  • Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, flexible, and able to work effectively in a matrixed organization including executive level stakeholders
  • Ability to work creatively, apply strong problem-solving skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities and demands
  • Ability to make timely decisions based on available data with a consideration of short and long-term strategic goals
  • Extensive experience leading marketing and communications efforts for external learning services
