Our Client Engagement function is responsible for driving sales and development of our signature issuing clients in UK & Ireland. The Commercial Account Manager will be an integral member of the Client Engagement Team, building relationships with key client contacts, collaborating cross-functionally within Visa to identify priorities and solutions, plus leading reporting and governance processes for the account.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • You will be managing a product portfolio for a signature account, ensuring our clients are provided appropriate support and excellent service from Visa in UK&I.
  • You will build and develop strong relationships with our issuing partner and will be responsible for working with clients to identify new and ongoing requirements, and introduce new products or services.
  • Lead the management and industrialisation of best practice account management, including business performance and reporting for client business review meetings.
  • Identify commercial insights in order to drive new business and opportunities with assigned clients.
  • Support our clients with realising the value of Visa data through appropriate tools and services.
  • Analyse and assess market trends.
  • You will leverage analytics and dashboards to assess customer performance, identifying issues and opportunities, then working with colleagues to identify priorities for action and recommendations.
  • You will lead financial reporting and modeling for our account revenues and incentives, plus lead development of the annual account plan, business reviews, internal account updates and account governance processes.
  • You will engage with propositions, finance, contract management, client service, merchant & acquirer sales, innovation consulting and data analytics among other local and regional partners to ensure client needs are understood and solutions are developed.
  • Identify client opportunities for new products/services enabling business improvement and growth in line with the clients’ business objectives and priorities.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of client accounts, suggesting ways to develop existing business, improve performance and grow volume.
  • You will contribute to the annual business and account plans for your clients, liaising with your counterparts in relation to the product or portfolio.
  • Everyone is a leader at Visa as such you will communicate your expertise and specialist knowledge to less experienced members of the team, acting in a mentorship capacity where appropriate.

Qualifications

What we're after...

  • Passion and curiosity for financial services, and in particular payments
  • Significant experience in key account management role in financial services, payment card, software or information services
  • Highly numerate and passionate about data and insights.
  • A curious mind-set with a desire to understand the dynamics within the UK payments and banking landscape.
  • Adeptness at P&L review, financial modeling, performance metrics and account planning
  • Commercial understanding and the aptitude to identify opportunities and proactively propose solutions
  • Experience of liaising with and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business, as well as building and maintaining relationships with external partners
  • Strong financial and analytical aptitude with the ability to assess performance vs budget and benchmarks, causal factors, capture insights and apply to business solutions
  • Collaborative approach to relationship management and problem solving
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills are required
  • Customer focus with proven ability to establish productive working relationships with staff and management at all levels
  • Ability to set priorities and manage customer expectations, and work both as part of a team and independently
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • English (professional working proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
