Job Description

This Director role will be a member of Visa’s North America (NA) Business Process and Operations team (BPO), which is responsible for various activities and initiatives that support the NA business and sales team that span across U.S. and Canada. The position requires a seasoned professional with a broad, well-rounded set of skills, a high level of energy, flexibility, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. This position is based in Foster City, California with the need to be in our San Francisco offices as necessary.

As a member of the NA BPO, you will be responsible for helping to shape and delivery of sales communications. The types of communications include, but are not limited to: weekly Hot Topics meeting, ad-hoc memos on product enhancements and changes, ad-hoc webinars to support education on broad changes such as pricing or product launches.  This position will also support the internal training function with content curation, voice of sales, and overall event support/management. 

The ideal candidate has experience in drafting, shaping content, excels at PowerPoint, and is a multi-tasker who has an eye for details. You will work closely with North America Sales, NA Operations colleagues, NA Marketing & Communications and NA Global Product team.  This position reports to the Sr. Business Leader, NA Sales Enablement.

Essential Functions

  • Support the curation of content for client-facing team communications including email and webinar communications to ensure a clear, concise message with defined next steps and resources available
  • Own the overall facilitation of the weekly Hot Topics meeting, which informs sales teams on client impacting information in an easily digestible format and next steps with clients. Includes managing agendas, developing content, and hosting weekly meeting.
  • Coordinate speakers and their content development staff to ensure timely delivery of cohesive and relevant content for internal/external business meetings as well as internal training sessions
  • Partner with Visa University and other groups that develop training content for client-facing teams to ensure the voice of sales is represented
  • Uses knowledge of Sales process and methodologies to customize and deliver selling-focused learning solutions aligned with business priorities and initiatives
  • Contributes to the evolution and application of sales competency models for specific business roles related to selling as well as supporting the development of subject matter experts and VU Faculty
  • Establishes themselves as a subject matter expert by leveraging experience with selling tools, communities and social media platforms that enable learner engagement and connection pre- or post-training sessions.
  • Builds a strong knowledge of the business, including internal and external trends, and keeps up to date with Visa’s business, payments industry and regional nuances

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales enablement with increasing responsibility including managing a P&L, working closely with clients and driving revenue targets, role modeling sales excellence in a technology company, and working with sales organization(s) to deliver educational training solutions to improve sales competencies
  • Passionate about sales and prior sales experience in a worldwide sales organization (e.g. in a technology company)
  • Passionate about training / experience of delivering training and / or presenting and facilitating content to large groups.
  • Deep knowledge of the payments business, preferably Visa’s products and services and regulatory landscape.
  • Knowledge of selling tools (e.g. CRM, Seismic, Mindtickle, Portals), process (e.g. account planning) and skills (e.g. solution/consultative selling, storytelling/communication, white boarding, customer development, opportunity development, selling fundamentals)
  • Strong, polished executive presence and business acumen a must.
  • Experience working with strategic partners and industry and/or regulator subject matter preferred.
  • Passion for teaching and facilitation and providing the best learning experiences for learners.
  • Experience delivering formal or informal learning programs using single channel or blended approaches, including virtual and classroom-based instructor-led training (ILT), peer-to-peer learning, on-the-job learning and eLearning
  • Proven ability to increase learner engagement in course facilitation, social media and communities.
  • Ability to comprehend and translate complex technical concepts into terms that are easy to understand for non-industry audiences in an influential and persuasive manner.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and consulting skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship management and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing content and strategies.
  • Experience quantifying ROI for key initiatives

Additional Information

Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Location: Foster City, CA with occasional work in SF. Relocation assistance will not be offered. 

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel: Incumbent must be able to travel up to 25%

Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms.
