Job Description

This position is a sales manager role within the U.S. Financial Institution Sales. This role is responsible for leading a team of proactive Associate Business Development Managers who will develop and win new Visa clients. Qualified candidates will show an ability to understand market conditions and Visa’s ability to be successful.  In addition, they will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and train others, while building relationships with the myriad of internal and external constituents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of 3 ABDM to be successful selling Visa brand and Interlink to new clients
  • Manage team that pursues an active and deep pipeline of prospects throughout deal process
  • Lead proactive outreach to prospective clients in an effort to secure Visa brand and Interlink placement
  • Cultivate relationships with processors, GSP’s, consultants and influencers to win new business
  • Develop executive level reporting to track deal progress
  • Play an active role in steering and enabling network brand decisions, in support of team members
  • Support seamless conversion process/implementation plan for new clients
  • Expand cross-sell opportunities within opportunities creating new sales and revenue generating opportunities, such as ATM, VIK etc.
  • Stay abreast of payment landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to growing Visa’s issuer business
  • Participate in sales meetings and training activities
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Visa products and services, including EFT processing services

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 3-5 years FI sales experience
  • Card Issuing/Acquiring experience beneficial
  • Sales management experience
  • Strong communication, presentation and phone skills
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and commitment to customer service
  • Willingness to learn and execute effective sales strategies
  • Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives with efficiency, professionalism and with demonstrated trouble shooting/problem solving skills
  • Confidence and ability to effectively create and deliver presentations to all audiences up to the executive levels
  • Ability to coordinate internal and external resources and nurture cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to negotiate business agreements and enhance existing and new relationships

Location: This position is located in Austin, TX. 

Work Hours: Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Travel: Incumbent must be able to travel up to 25%

Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
