Job Description

This position will have responsibility for sales – new, upsell & xsell of CyberSource - Visa’s eCommerce (eCom) gateway. The role holder will be accountable for driving sales and key relationships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The CyberSource Sales Role is a critical position in the overall development of Merchant Sales & Acquiring plans. Working in close partnership with account managers and broader CyberSource team, the role-holder will lead e2e opportunity identification to execution within the space of acquirers, PSP aggregators and Merchants. Success metrics will include business volume, revenues across new and existing business.

This is a sales position requiring the candidate to possess strong commercial acumen, solutions mindset and extensive eCommerce gateway & payments industry knowledge. The role is based in Riyadh and reports to the Regional Merchant Sales and Acquiring lead. 

The role holder will be responsible for progressing eCom acceptance via working with Acquirers, Payment Service Providers / Payment Facilitators (PSP / PF), Local Strategic Merchants and other stakeholders like vendors, regulators, local switches among others. This is an individual contributor role. Key result areas include pursuing new business, managing and deepening existing business, responding to RFP’s and periodic reviews, problem resolution and satisfaction. The position will be responsible for managing a high growth trajectory business with annual revenues expected to exceed USD 10 MM and 10+ merchant/acquirer relationships in 12 – 18 months.

The role will influence Visa's business by:

  • Positioning Visa as the industry leader and thought leader amongst clients, partners and peers
  • Working closely with country and functional teams to develop wider CyberSource business plans.
  • Sharing best practices, working as a team and supporting colleagues
  • Competitive and market intelligence on products, platforms and business opportunities
  • Sales growth – new eCom gateway sales and support deepening existing to drive eCom transactions and revenues (upsell, Xsell opportunities)

Principle Responsibilities / Key Result Areas:

  • Direct responsibility for CyberSource business for the market.
  • Devising and delivering annual CyberSource business plans  
  • Selling CyberSource solutions and ancillary products to clients. Remit includes new business opportunities - building a pipeline of activity from initial qualification to implementation, Xsell & Upsell.
  • Create and develop sustainable long-term relationships with key clients
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders in the MENA market, including Country Managers, Business Development leaders, MS&A Leaders and other support functions
  • Collaborate with product and solutions teams to facilitate product enhancements & service improvements
  • External and internal negotiations on pricing, discounts and contractual terms within set parameters
  • Regular reporting of Pipeline and Forecasts for all opportunities

Qualifications

  • Experience in selling product or solutions, preferably in eCom Gateways, or with enterprise software, SaaS, IT solutions for Payment industries or Acquiring payment services experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of government, RFP led sales opportunities. Managing full sales cycle – from pre-sales, RFI / RFP to technical sessions and submission to closure
  • Ability to think strategically and develop go-to-market plans and processes, collaterals, presentations to execute the vision
  • Proven experience of developing new business in a start-up/growth environment. Design effective tools/proof of concept
  • Customer relationship management and influencing skills in a solution sales environment
  • Possess a clear understanding of broader competitive environment and forge strategic links outside the business
  • Must be able to skillfully prioritize and manage concurrent projects and resolve challenges / issues
  • Self-starter with mature sales & xfunctional collaboration skills
  • Engages others to think about responding to competitor moves, external threats, or emerging business opportunities
  • Considered a valuable source of expertise and knowledge.

Reporting Relationships

  • This position is based in Riyadh and reports to the Head of Merchant Sales & Acquiring, MENA
  • This position will involve frequent interaction with key Visa stakeholders, including financial institutions, processors, the Central Bank, acquirers, merchants, etc
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Multicultural sensitivity and interpersonal relationship management skills are essential including the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Professional

  • Professional Degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of eCommerce business or related Payments Industry experience
  • Understanding of Merchant Acquiring business
  • Financial Transaction processing knowledge & presentation skills

Business

  • Significant experience in the Saudi market. Native Arabic language skill is required
  • Business Negotiation, Communications skills, Written and verbal English language proficiency and ability to communicate at all levels / various functions within large organizations
  • Ability to work independently and engage multiple levels of management in key decisions where required for the business
  • Flexibility to travel around the region and internationally as required
