Position Description
The Senior Director for Product Insights & Analytics is responsible for leading learning plans, research and analytics needs for all Visa’s global product marketing team. This includes developing insights from different sources of data, including strong analytics, to enable the product strategy and maximize brand and business results. This role works closely with the VP of Global Product Marketing in addressing the shift to digital in the changing payments landscape. Visa diverse product offerings success depends on demand creation from sales and marketing, which are be based on data-driven insights from prime prospect audiences, driving business results. You and your team will play an integral role in the lifecycle of Visa’s product and solutions portfolio. As leader of the Product Insights & Analytics team, you should also have the ability to coach, develop and lead your team in diverse skill areas ranging from primary research, consulting integrative thinking, and also strong data analytics and statistics.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications

12+ years of experience, 15-18 preferred on managing insights and analytical functions, leading custom market research and data-driven analysis for relevant brands and businesses, preferably in the innovation and customer experience areas from the tech, consulting, CPG, retail, agencies, financial or payments industries.
Bachelor’s degree required; Preference for Graduate degree. Preference for degree in marketing, market research, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and/or in a quantitative field like Economics/Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Engineering.
 

  • Demonstrated success using research to drive insights and strategic implications that lead to business decisions
  • Ability to transition easily from a technical research perspective to practical business considerations. Ability to influence teams and business to get to tangible results.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills, as well as integrative thinking to connect research data with internal behavioral data-sets. 
  • Highly proficient in the application of econometric and statistical modeling techniques such as linear and non-linear multivariate regression to inform business decisions. 
  • Familiarity with and basic ability to support team in leveraging sales and marketing automation and measurement tools such as Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, AEM and Google Analytics
  • Understand and apply research to increase product potential within the different steps of account based marketing / customer journey funnel to acquire qualified marketing leads.
  • Deep expertise with application of a broad range of research techniques and methodologies required, including ideation, concept testing, ethnographic research, segmentation and persona development, maxDiff and conjoint, and key driver analysis
  • Be proficient on different approaches to product and addressable market forecasting, including benchmarking, share and trial based models, as well as worked with external research agencies on forecasting product innovation.
  • Experience managing multi-country global research projects, as well as managing a team of researchers, statisticians and/or data-scientist. 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and outstanding presentation skills, including experience presenting to and influencing executives; Must be fluent in English

The Senior Director for Global Product Insights & Analytics is a position where crafting and delivering amazing insights that produce actionable business results is required in every project. The Product lifecycle and ideas require finding ways to increase demand and chances of success by solving important business problems. These learnings should be driven by this Senior Director, who will need to flex the intellectual muscles and apply integrating thinking to connect between different methodologies and data-sets, including the very rich VisaNet databases.

As part of the Global Insights & Analytics team, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining consultative-based relationships with senior leaders across designated business lines, specially the Product leaders and their Marketing & Communications teams.  You will lead development of the annual learning agenda for these businesses and identify consumer and customer attitudes, needs, behaviors. Also, to identify emerging consumer and business trends that provide insights to drive results and strengthen relationships with key external clients. This Senior Director position must feel comfortable in a B2B environment, and understand how Customer Experience can be an integral part of the product success. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, curious and creative in their thinking; have an expert level of knowledge of market research, analysis and insight generation. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of customers and consumer insights with an innovative mindset that shape and maximize main Visa products, including Core Products, Visa Direct, Data Products, Fin-tech products, etc.
  • Provide value to the Product teams to enhance Visa’s sales and demand creation efforts. Deep analytics understanding to increase leads for each of the customer journey funnel.
  • Act as a research expert and thought leader on Visa’s research knowledge base
  • Shape the research agendas for Product teams, recommend research design, ensure vendors deliver with excellence, and infuse analysis, synthesis, and actionable recommendations in your work
  • Lead a team of four in delivering actionable insights from the data by defining the best capabilities to be used depending on the learning need. Collaborate with the capability leaders to master Visa’s suite of behavioral and data analytics tools.
  • Strong partnership skills to develop a sustainable and mutually agreed working model including joint planning and governance with the Global Product organization via the Global Marketing & Communications representative for each Product line.
  • Be the advocate for the brand in all major product design and delivery discussions – ensuring standards are understood and the Visa brand remains prominent in a B2C, B2B and B2B2C framework.
  • Lead projects related to Customer Experience (CX), product messaging, forecasting addressable markets, as well as volume forecast potential. 
  • Demonstrate the courage to advocate for and test innovative new approaches even when challenged by legacy ways of working. Demonstrate exemplary research expertise and innovation, including recommending alternative data sources and methods where appropriate
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of your team’s marketing programs and, and report back to the business on required changes
  • Lead the research process in a B2C, B2B and B2B2C environment, particularly in understanding objectives, formulating relevant design, developing questionnaires and analytic plans, synthesizing findings, driving to actionable recommendations and delivering compelling presentations to senior management 
  • Disseminate case studies on how research learnings are being applied to the business
  • Build a culture of curiosity, innovation and thoughtful risk-taking
     

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting.   The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

Candidate must be able to work with resources located in different time zones and accommodate conference calls outside of normal working hours on a weekly basis

Travel Requirements:   The incumbent may be required to travel 15-20%
