A key part of our North America Merchant team, The North America Merchant Specialized Sales Team will drive revenue growth with new flows & value added solutions as a primary point of contact with product, a trusted partner of account executives, and a skilled sales and solution expert with clients - earning well-qualified wins while building trust and growing engagement and satisfaction among teammates, partners and clients.
The Senior Director, Specialized Sales for NA Merchant team plays a critical role in our field sales organization. Visa's strategy for new flows and value added solutions makes this role a crucial connector among product team members, account executives, partners and clients to accelerate success. Drawing on solutions from Platform, Consumer, Data and Consulting, Visa solutions contribute to strategic growth for our merchant clients. In addition, these solutions are important contributors to both team engagement and client satisfaction. The position reports to the Vice President, Specialized Sales in the North American Merchant team and optimally based in San Francisco.
Success in this role will draw on your consultative approach, experience in enterprise solutions and services, growth mindset, and ability to work effectively as a team with product and account executives. Experience in financial services and/or payments is not required, though it is recommended. * Build trusted partnerships and engagement with Visa Product teams and account executives in North America
• Sell value added solutions and new flow solutions that fit client needs while adding to client and partner satisfaction and enhance Visa growth and strategic value to the relationship
* Partner effectively with cross-functional team of solution specialists, account executives and supporting team members through entire deal cycle
• Demonstrate required technical competency on Visa solutions with clients, partners, and team members
• Think and act strategically and analytically about business, product, and market opportunities
• Create compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build a unified team to ensure a winning proposition for our customers
12 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of relevant client experience, including recent responsibilities and success in enterprise sales and business development. The candidate will have a solid understanding of the trends influencing digital commerce and financial flows across US industries and key verticals such as Retail, Everyday Spend, and ecommerce/marketplaces. The candidate should have a strong track record of building business and completing sales in larger sized business, developing deep relationships across an organization including technical buyers, and negotiating complex partnership deals.
The candidate should have knowledge of current and emerging payment systems and practices, and a curiosity and motivation to learn more about client needs and opportunities for current and future Visa solutions. Prior mastery of consultative approach to clients is important for individual and team performance. The successful incumbent will demonstrate daily a deep understanding and empathy for new product development and the commercialization process among Visa product teams and with clients and partners. We expect the incumbent will be inspired by the challenges and opportunities often encountered with new solutions that have high growth potential.

The candidate will be have a desire to be a a thought leader who can educate and inspire - both clients and teammates. The candidate will be polished, detailed-minded and self-sufficient in business communications, client and public presentations, business proposals, internal. A highly regarded qualification is the ability to transform product and solution insights into client-relevant stories that inspire action.
- This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
