As part of the Platform and Reliability Engineering Department in the Network Processing organization, you'll be responsible for system development, implementation, maintenance, support, tools and automation of Visa's systems, which authorize, clear, settle, and deliver transactions to issuer and acquirer financial institutions globally. Through this challenging job, you'll gain experience collaborating with various parts of the business in understanding requirements for system enhancements, identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes to the system or process where it is needed. The product that you oversee will be of the highest quality meeting all requirements within the scheduled timeframe.

We are looking for a software engineer with 10+ years of software development and design experience. Experience in mainframe, REXX and JCL are a must. COBOL and C/C++ knowledge is a huge plus. Must be willing to work on Windows, Linux and Mainframe and willing to learn new technologies in the open systems. You encourage others to take risks, be bold, and innovate in order to create exceptional products that are both seamless for our clients and consumers. You recognize when to ask for help and when to collaborate with others, working across departments and influencing in areas beyond immediate control. Basic Qualifications:

• 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree  in computer science or engineering or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

• 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

• At  least 10+ years of product development experience, and mainly on the mainframe.

• 7+ Experience in commercial software development on the mainframe environment.

• 7+ Experience in developing applications on the web is a huge plus. 

• Extensive REXX and JCL experience is required. COBOL and C/C++ are preferred, but not required.

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
