The Cyber Security Engineer will be instrumental in building and maintaining security solutions within the organization to safeguard employees, customers, data, and systems. The Cyber Security Engineer will constantly be developing and evolving the organization’s security systems and handling any technical problems that arise. To ensure success, a Cyber Security Engineer must display an excellent understanding of various security technologies such as Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy and Security Audits, and must be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems and troubleshooting of the network.

What You'll Do:

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems and networks
  • Automate security tools and processes ensuring innovation and advancement strategies that keep pace in the areas of access control, security-in-depth, secure transaction processing, secure coding practices
  • Assist with the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Update, sustain, and administer a high level of security for in-house security infrastructures
  • Configure Windows and Linux host-based security as well as network and cloud-based security systems
  • Identify threats and develop suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for security implications, and recommend enhancements
  • Provide first-class support to the cyber security operations staff for resolving difficult cyber security issues
  • Remain current with emerging security technologies, threats, and attack trends
  • Assist with the detection and response of any potential security incident

Qualifications

What You Need to Have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, the candidate will have at least 4 years of hands-on work experience with appropriate industry certifications.
  • 2+ years of work experience in incident detection and response, vulnerability management, or systems engineering
  • Technical experience with building, implementing, and maintaining security technologies including, but not limited to, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, CASB, WAF, FIM, and AV.

What we would love you to have:

  • Deep understanding of current compliance, regulatory and legal requirements relevant to the transaction processing industry such as PCI, HIPPA, SOX, and GLB.
  • Knowledge of administrative, physical and technical controls that could be built around networks, systems, and applications.
  • A proven record of accomplishment in designing security controls for complex web applications with backend services expertise such as API Gateway, Identity and Access Management Services, Data Protection technologies, Security Information Event Management, etc.
  • Experience of working on large scale services (including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and very understanding of security challenges involved in deploying Cloud Applications
  • Experience with HSMs, PKI, Tokenization systems, data encryption solutions from Thales, nCipher, Vormetric, etc.
  • CISSP, CEH, GCIH, and similar security certifications

Physical Requirements:

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
